Eagles' Parris Campbell: Saquon Barkley 'Going to Show' He's NFL's Top RB in Philly
One newcomer to the Philadelphia Eagles this offseason, Parris Campbell, is expecting very big things for another one of the team's new additions.
The veteran wideout, who signed with the Eagles this offseason, believes Saquon Barkley—who he also played with on the New York Giants last season—is going to thrive in his new offense, as he told Olivia Reiner of the Philadelphia Inquirer:
"I think he's going to show people why he's the best running back in the league. I know there's a bunch of debate between him and Christian McCaffrey. And don't get me wrong, McCaffrey's by far one of the best running backs in the league. But being able to see Saquon up close and personal, being in the same locker room, on the same team, man, he's a different guy when he's on that field, honestly. And running behind that offensive line that we have, I think it's going to be pretty scary for defenses."

"You pair that with Jalen (Hurts) and the things he can do with his feet, just as far as extending plays, getting outside the pocket, I'm sure there will be some type of read-option game that we go on and RPO stuff that'll happen. So just the possibilities of it are endless."
While Campbell will be competing for the No. 3 wide receiver position with DeVante Parker behind the star duo of A.J. Brown and DeVonta Smith, Barkley is expected to instantly become a cornerstone of the team's offense.
The Eagles still boast one of the league's best offensive lines, even with the offseason retirement of Jason Kelce, as players like Lane Johnson, Jordan Mailata and Landon Dickerson all return.
So the Eagles are solid in the trenches, have a dual-threat star at quarterback in Hurts and plenty of weapons for him to utilize in both the run and passing games. If all goes to plan—which includes Barkley staying healthy, the main precursor to him being an elite option at running back—Philly is going to be a problem in 2024.
