Key Match Predictions

The Rock and Roman Reigns vs. Seth Rollins and Cody Rhodes

This is the easiest match of the entire two-night show to predict. It makes absolutely no storyline sense for The Bloodline team to lose.

Considering how hard WWE has been pushing a Rock-Rhodes feud on television for the past several weeks, the smart finish for the tag match is the Final Boss pinning Cody to ensure Bloodline rules for the title match on Sunday.

This allows WWE to set up a one-on-one bout between Rock and Rhodes at a future premium live event, potentially SummerSlam, with the American Nightmare getting his win back.

In that scenario, Reigns would get frustrated with the Rock for failing and eventually turn on his cousin to set up a singles match between the two. That seemed to be the original plan for this year's WrestleMania, but perhaps it'll unfold at next year's show that is expected to take place in Minnesota.

Everything after this weekend is dependent on The Rock's movie schedule, which is expected to resume soon after WrestleMania 40. But there are enough breadcrumbs that have been laid to think this is at least the plan right now.

Rhea Ripley vs. Becky Lynch

Of all the matches on the show, the women's title match between Rhea Ripley and Becky Lynch feels like the hardest to predict.

On the one hand, Lynch's promos leading up to the bout have been about her doubting her ability to beat Ripley and prove she is still The Man. Typical booking logic would suggest this means the babyface is going to win.

On the other hand, Ripley is the biggest women's star on the roster right now, and it doesn't feel like the right time for her to drop the title. She also comes across as a total babyface on television, even though the Judgment Day is technically a heel faction.

If the Judgment Day is going to start fracturing at WrestleMania, Ripley dropping the title could be the first piece of the puzzle. Her losing, combined with the teases of Damian Priest cashing in his Money in the Bank against the winner of the Rollins-Drew McIntyre bout, could lead to a clash over who the leader of the group should be going forward.

Another factor working in Lynch's favor is that her memoir just dropped on March 26. The timing probably wasn't a coincidence as she is going for the women's championship on the biggest show.

In what should be a great bout between the top two women's stars on the roster, look for Lynch to win her seventh singles title in WWE.

Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes

The culmination of Rhodes' two-year storyline will come in the main event on Sunday night.

When Rhodes lost to Reigns last year, there was a lot of pushback from the WWE universe that it was a bad decision.

Time has proven Triple H and the rest of the creative staff correct. Rhodes has managed to become an even bigger star over the past 12 months, so much so that WWE changed its plan for a Rock-Reigns singles match on this show because of how strong the response was to Rhodes potentially not getting the title shot he earned by winning the Royal Rumble.

There is an argument for Reigns to retain yet again, especially if WWE still intends to build for a singles match against The Rock. Having the Tribal Chief remain undefeated in one-on-one matches for more than five years going into WrestleMania 41 before he takes on The Rock would help sell the match.

But you don't need anything more to sell that match than The Rock in the ring for a singles bout against Reigns.

The entire build for Reigns and Rhodes has been about how the American Nightmare is going to be outmatched and outclassed.

Since the bout will almost certainly be contested under Bloodline rules, Rollins and Jey Uso will come out to even the odds when Rock, Jimmy Uso and Solo Sikoa eventually get involved.

Rhodes will take out The Rock, leaving Reigns to fend for himself. Cody will pin him clean in the middle of the ring to end Reigns' four-year title run and become the undisputed champion for the first time in his career.
