Chisholm was on The Pivot podcast and called his first three seasons in the big leagues "worst three years of probably my life."
The Miami Marlins outfielder didn't directly name Rojas in the interview, but he called out the "team captain" trying to create division within the locker room at a point when Rojas was regarded as the clubhouse leader.
Chisholm went on to say that then-Marlins manager Don Mattingly called for a team meeting at one point during the 2022 season to let everyone air out their grievances.
Per Barry Jackson, Jordan McPherson and Craig Mish of the Miami Herald, Mattingly "had grown weary" of players complaining about teammates and "wanted to try to resolve the issues" away from the public noise.
The report noted that one of the issues causing conflict among was a feeling among some of the Marlins veterans that the younger players were not "behaving professionally and following some of the team's rules."
Miami underwent an overhaul after finishing with a 69-93 record in 2022. Mattingly parted ways with the club and was replaced by Skip Schumaker. Rojas was traded to the Dodgers in January 2023.
Chisholm was shifted from second base to center field after the Marlins acquired Luis Arráez from the Minnesota Twins. He only played 97 games last season due to oblique and toe injuries, but still managed to hit 19 homers and steal 22 bases in 383 plate appearances.
The Marlins finished the regular season 84-78 and made the playoffs as a wild-card team in the National League. It was their first time finishing with a winning record and making the postseason in a 162-game season since defeating the New York Yankees in the 2003 World Series.
Rojas spent eight seasons with the Marlins from 2015 to '23. The trade to the Dodgers sent him back to the organization that gave him his first crack in the big leagues in 2014 after spending eight seasons in the minors between the Cincinnati Reds (2006 to '11) and Los Angeles.
