Kool-Aid McKinstry Praised for Running 4.47 40 with Foot Injury at Alabama Pro Day
If there were any concerns about Kool-Aid McKinstry's foot after it was revealed during the NFL scouting combine he needed surgery to repair a Jones fracture, the standout cornerback might have put some of them to rest on Wednesday.
McKinstry received high marks for running the 40 in 4.47 seconds at Alabama's pro day in front of NFL scouts and executives.

The 21-year-old also took part in the broad and vertical jumps:
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on March 1 that McKinstry's medical evaluation at the combine revealed a Jones fracture.
McKinstry told reporters on Wednesday his foot feels "fine" and there's no pain, but he's preparing to have surgery on Friday.
Rapoport noted McKinstry is expected to be 100 percent healthy by the time training camp opens this summer.
McKinstry's broad jump is in line with what Toledo's Quinyon Mitchell did at the combine (10'0"). Mitchell (38") and Terrion Arnold (37"), McKinstry's teammate for the past three seasons at Alabama, fared better in the vertical jump.
Those names are being brought up because they are regarded, along with McKinstry, as the top cornerbacks in the 2024 NFL draft class.
Arnold made the case for his teammate to be a first-round pick after the pro-day festivities were wrapped up.
B/R's NFL scouting department has all three players ranked among the top 15 prospects. Mitchell is the top-ranked cornerback at No. 10 overall, followed by Arnold at No. 11 and McKinstry at No. 15.
McKinstry was named to the All-SEC first team in each of the past two seasons. He was named a first-team All-American in 2023 after recording seven pass breakups in 14 games.
