Report: Steelers Emphasized 'the People, Not Just the Players' with Free-Agency Moves
The Pittsburgh Steelers have placed a "greater emphasis on the people" during this free agency period, per Mark Kaboly of The Athletic.
"According to team and league sources, the Steelers have put a greater emphasis on the people — not just the players — they've considered bringing in during free agency, even for free agents who might seem like a perfect fit on the surface," Kaboly wrote.
It's clear that not everyone who's been in Pittsburgh lately has wanted to be around and/or wore out his welcome with the franchise. Kaboly's listed examples include the recently traded Diontae Johnson and Kenny Pickett, the recently released Chukwuma Okorafor and wideout Chase Claypool, who was sent to the Chicago Bears last year.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Now it appears the Steelers want to move on from any past issues.
Led by general manager Omar Khan, Pittsburgh had a busy free agency period highlighted by the addition of quarterback Russell Wilson on a one-year deal. Wilson, a nine-time Pro Bowler, is slotted in as QB1, replacing Pickett.
On the defensive side, linebacker Patrick Queen came over from the Baltimore Ravens on a three-year, $41 million contract. He figures to help headline a tough defense led by superstar edge-rusher T.J. Watt.
Other additions include Miami Dolphins safety DeShon Elliott and Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Van Jefferson.
