Derrick Henry: Cowboys Never Contacted Me in NFL Free Agency Before Ravens Contract
Before he signed with the Baltimore Ravens, several teams were likely eyeing star running back Derrick Henry.
The Dallas Cowboys were not one of those teams. Speaking on Mad Dog Sports Radio Thursday, Henry said the Cowboys never called him during free agency.
"Not at all. I don't really know what's going on over there, but there wasn't any chance," Henry said. "Baltimore had shown the most interest and I'm somewhere I wanted to be. I was glad that we got it done. But the Cowboys never called at all."

Henry, who spent eight seasons with the Tennessee Titans, ultimately signed with the Ravens on a two-year, $16 million contract Tuesday.
Henry said that had the Cowboys shown interest, the team would have been on his radar as a potential landing spot.
"Yeah, of course. That's where I stay in the offseason," Henry said. "Kind of on the backend of my career, that's a great organization and it would've been a great opportunity. But I'm thankful that I ended up here in Baltimore, somewhere that I wanted to be, somewhere that wanted me here as well."
Last season, Henry had 1,167 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns, marking his sixth season with double-digit touchdowns on the ground. The former All-Pro running back and four-time Pro Bowler left quite the legacy in Tennessee, making his way to No. 2 on the Titans' all-time rushing yards list and holding the top spot on the all-time rushing touchdowns list, but now he's looking for a strong second act to his career in Baltimore.
The Ravens are coming off a 13-4 season where they were one game shy of reaching their first Super Bowl since 2012. With reigning MVP Lamar Jackson returning and Henry joining the roster, Baltimore is in a good position to one-up its success in 2024.
