SEC Tournament 2024: Men's Bracket Seeds, Odds, Matchups and Predictions
The SEC tournament could have the best semifinal and final of any conference tournament played this season.
The league possesses four elite teams, led by the Tennessee Volunteers, who could make a case to win the NCAA men's basketball tournament.
Tennessee is the top seed going into Nashville, but it comes in off a home loss to the Kentucky Wildcats on Saturday.
Kentucky could play the highest-scoring game of Championship Week against the Alabama Crimson Tide in Saturday's semifinals.
Alabama is looking for a spark after it lost three of its last five games. The Crimson Tide won the last two SEC tournaments played in Nashville in 2021 and 2023.
The Auburn Tigers have something to prove in Nashville as well. Bruce Pearl's team went 13-5 in SEC play, but three of those losses came against the top three seeds.
A surprise winner or finalist is not out of the question, but the top four teams have be

Prediction

A semifinal Saturday with Tennessee-Auburn and Kentucky-Alabama matchups would be an incredible spectacle for college basketball.
All four teams rank in the top 20 on KenPom and they could all be alive on the second weekend of the NCAA tournament.
Auburn has the most to prove of the quartet because of its 1-3 record against the top three seeds. The Tigers have the highest KenPom ranking in the SEC, but they are 1-6 against teams currently ranked in the top 40 by the site.
A win over Tennessee would be a huge boost for the Tigers, but that may be difficult to achieve since they will face the toughest quarterfinal matchup against the South Carolina Gamecocks.
South Carolina was the most improved team in the SEC this season and it has plenty of motivation to challenge Auburn after losing to the Tigers by 40 points on February 14.
Tennessee, Kentucky and Alabama are all in a class above their potential quarterfinal foes.
The Volunteers can use the SEC tournament as a rest after losing to Kentucky. Do not be surprised if we see a few strong defensive showings out of the Vols after they conceded 85 points on Saturday.
Kentucky is peaking at the right time. The Wildcats are 7-1 in their last eight games with wins over Auburn, Alabama and Tennessee in that stretch.
A potential Kentucky-Alabama semifinal could push 200 points. The Wildcats have to be favored in that matchup right now since the Crimson Tide allowed 117 points to John Calipari's team on February 24.
A second Tennessee-Kentucky matchup in eight days would be the perfect cap to the SEC season. The Vols may hold the edge if their defense improves from Saturday's loss.
Prediction: Tennessee over Kentucky
