Luis Suarez Ban: Suarez Has More Class Than Liverpool
Luis Suarez deserves respect for having apologised for what was taken as a racial slur.
His explanation is, as before, entirely understandable, because he believed that what he admitted to have said (and Comolli confirmed to the referee), would not have been racial abuse in Uruguay.
As before, the fault lies with Liverpool, who despite being one of the clubs who have signed up for the Kick It Out campaign and process, clearly cannot have made clear that such language would be in breach of FA regulations.

Despite Comolli himself having confirmed to the referee that Suarez had used the words which breached regulation E3(2), without that it is possible the case might never have been brought up.
Whatever their sense of grievance, it would be unwise to conduct a war of words with the FA, especially as it was an Independent Commission that found the case proven.
Why is it so hard for Liverpool to at least accept the fact that Patrice Evra, who has no history whatsoever of previous accusations of racial abuse, felt personally abused and upset, regardless of a misunderstanding?
The impression is forming that, despite his unfortunate error, Suarez is the "good guy" at Anfield, as he was at Ajax when he publicly apologised for biting an opponent.
For all of us who have appreciated Suarez as one of the most talented footballers to grace the Premier League, we thank you.
For those who are guiding Liverpool's self-defeating PR disaster, please move on before further damage is done to the name of one of the greatest clubs in the history of football.
