D'Andre Swift, Bears Agree to 3-Year, $24M Contract in 2024 NFL Free Agency
Free-agent running back D'Andre Swift was not on the market for long.
Swift agreed to a three-year, $24 million contract with the Chicago Bears on Monday, agent Trevon Smith told ESPN's Adam Schefter. The deal includes $15.3 million guaranteed money.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo first reported the deal.

The deal comes after Schefter previously reported the Bears were "expected to make a major push" to sign the former Philadelphia Eagles running back.
Swift, 25, had an excellent year in 2023, setting a career-high in rushing yards (1,049) while adding 39 catches for 214 yards and six total touchdowns. That earned him his first Pro Bowl nod.
He spent his first three seasons in Detroit, sharing time in the backfield with players like Adrian Peterson and Jamaal Williams. He's often been the lightning alongside a thunder option in a running back platoon, and even in Philadelphia, Kenny Gainwell saw regular run despite Swift clearly being the top option.
He should be a nice upgrade in Chicago over the trio of Roschon Johnson (352 rushing yards and two scores last season), Khalil Herbert (611 rushing yards, two touchdowns) and D'Onta Foreman (425 rushing yards, four scores).
The main question in Chicago, of course, is whether Swift will be lining up next to incumbent quarterback Justin Fields or a player like Caleb Williams, who the team could select with the top overall pick at this year's NFL draft. No team is more fascinating this offseason than the Bears.
And no position is more intriguing than running back in free agency. Two big names are already off the board, with former Dallas Cowboys running back Tony Pollard reportedly agreeing to a three-year, $24 million deal with the Tennessee Titans on Monday.
That leaves the four biggest available names at the position coming into the offseason—Saquon Barkley, Josh Jacobs, Derrick Henry and Austin Ekeler—still available.
Barkley and Jacobs should fetch the biggest contracts this offseason at the position, while Henry is in line for a solid short-term deal. Ekeler is a bit of a wild card after his disappointing 2023 campaign, but when healthy he's one of the NFL's best receiving options out of the backfield and could be a sneaky pickup on a one-year deal for a contender.
