Video: Patrick Beverley Says He Taught James Harden the Step-Back with Rockets
Milwaukee Bucks guard Patrick Beverley said on his podcast that he's the one who taught Los Angeles Clippers star James Harden his signature step-back move.
Beverley's comments were made after his Bucks beat the Clippers 113-106 last Monday evening. He said that he hit a step-back over Harden, who then asked where he got that from.

Beverley then said he told Harden he got it from himself after spending three years overseas, and that the now-Clippers star was influenced by that move when the two were on Houston.
Beverley played three years in Greece and Russia before beginning his NBA career with the Rockets in 2012. That also marked Harden's first season in Houston after the Oklahoma City Thunder traded him.
They played on the Rockets for five years together before Beverley got traded in 2017 in a seven-player deal that notably brought Chris Paul to Houston.
Harden, of course, has made a living off the step-back three-pointer. His resume now includes three scoring titles, 10 All-Star Games and the 2017-18 NBA MVP. He isn't asked to score as much these days on the Clips, but it's still a weapon in his arsenal as he tries to help L.A. win its (and his as well) first-ever championship.
