Andre Iguodala Picks Kyrie Irving Over Steph Curry for Clutch Shot: 'Not Even Close'
Andre Iguodala witnessed Golden State Warriors legend Stephen Curry in the clutch several times throughout his career, but when it comes to last-second shots, Iguodala would turn to another player.
In an interview on The Ryen Russillo Podcast, Iguodala said that if he needed a last-second shot, he would look to Dallas Mavericks point guard Kyrie Irving over his former teammate.
"Kyrie Irving, it's not even close," Iguodala said. "For the last-second shot, I'm going with Kyrie. You're talking about fear factor at any given moment or for like that moment, Kyrie.

Iguodala said that for him, it comes down to Curry's weakness when he's double-teamed. He believes Irving has the ability to score no matter what when the game is on the line.
"With Steph, I think he's shown, at least proven, to teams that you can double him and if you can just try to get the ball out of his hands, then I guess that's the way to combat him," Iguodala said. "But with Kyrie, he's just so good. You can't get the ball out of his hands. Allen Iverson said Kyrie was the best ball-handler in NBA history. And I've been told that I was crazy for saying that. But with Kyrie, you talk about fear factor, you ask anybody in the league, that's a scary guy to see."
Iguodala has been on the wrong end of a clutch basket from Irving. In the 2016 NBA Finals when Irving was still with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he drained a three in the final minutes that ultimately helped the Cavs win Game 7 and the championship.
Curry has hit his fair share of shots in the clutch, but perhaps Irving's huge three has stuck with Iguodala enough for him to give the nod to Irving.
Irving hasn't had the chance to hit any game-winning shots in the Finals in recent years, but he's looking to change that in Dallas.
Irving is averaging 25.9 points, 5.2 assists and 5.1 rebounds per game this season with the Mavericks. He's helped lead Dallas to a big month, putting up 27.7 points per game in February as the Mavericks have gone 11-2 to help them climb to seventh place in the Western Conference after a shaky start to the season.
