Bucks' Patrick Beverley Calls Wolves' Chris Finch a 'Sore Loser' for Post-Game Snub
Patrick Beverley has never met a grudge he didn't love holding onto, and his former head coach with the Minnesota Timberwolves is the latest target of his scorn.
After the Milwaukee Bucks' 112-107 win over the Timberwolves on Friday night, Beverley called Chris Finch a "sore loser" for not saying anything to him before walking off the court.
Beverley has made his feelings toward Finch known in the past when he expressed unhappiness with how his departure from Minnesota was handled.
After spending the entire 2021-22 season with the Timberwolves, Beverley was dealt to the Utah Jazz in July 2022 as part of the Rudy Gobert trade.
On the debut episode of his podcast in October 2022 (starts at 2:15 mark), Beverley explained his "anger" over the deal stemmed from the fact that the person from the T-Wolves organization who called him wasn't Finch.
"When I get the call for the trade, I feel like the call should've came from the coach. That's where my anger came from. Not eight hours later or seven hours later when the dust is starting to clear," said Beverley.
It's not uncommon for Beverley to carry a grudge with him for a long time. He had an ongoing back and forth this week with JJ Redick that started over Doc Rivers before shifting to James Harden and the 2015 Western Conference semifinals between the Los Angeles Clippers and Houston Rockets.
Beverley played 16 minutes off the bench against his former team on Friday night. He finished with four points, three assists and three rebounds.
The Bucks were able to get the win by outscoring Minnesota 36-13 in the third quarter. The victory was just their fifth in the last 13 games dating back to Jan. 26.
Minnesota's loss snapped its four-game winning streak. It also dropped the club into a tie with the Oklahoma City Thunder for the No. 1 seed in the Western Conference (39-17).
