The Real Winners and Losers from WWE Elimination Chamber 2024 Match Card

Kevin BergeFeb 24, 2024

Elimination Chamber 2024 promised to be a special show, and the event delivered.

Saturday, 52,590 fans were in attendance at the Optus Stadium in Perth, Australia for two Elimination Chamber matches and two title bouts.

Rhea Ripley faced the toughest challenge of her career, fighting an undefeated and motivated Nia Jax. However, Mami delivered for the Aussie crowd.

This show crowned two new No. 1 contenders through brutal journeys in the Elimination Chamber: Becky Lynch and Drew McIntyre.

Other stars inside the Chamber did their best to stand out, including Tiffany Stratton and Naomi in the women's contest to Kevin Owens and Bobby Lashley in the men's.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins appeared on The Grayson Waller Effect and showed their ability to work together in taking down the loudmouth Austin Theory.

Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate pushed Finn Bálor and Damian Priest to their limit, but The Judgment Day retained the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship.

The following are the real winners and losers from this important night on the Road to WrestleMania XL.

Winner: Indi Hartwell

1 of 10

Indi Hartwell almost missed a chance to wrestle in front of her home nation. Instead, she got to fight for gold as fans chanted for her, even when she was just on the apron.

While she and Candice LeRae did not win the women's tag team titles, they looked as good together as they ever have. Hartwell came off as a star in Perth, and that kind of crowd reaction can translate back to the United States with the right booking.

Hopefully, WWE will build off this momentum. Even if it does not come until after WrestleMania 40, LeRae and Hartwell can become a legitimate threat in the women's tag team division in 2024.

Hartwell especially needed this moment as a former NXT women's champion who has not felt like a serious threat on the main roster.

Winner: Tiffany Stratton

2 of 10

WWE was not afraid to show how much Tiffany Stratton was the rookie inside the Elimination Chamber, but the crowd did not care. Once she got moving, she was the MVP of the action.

Her athleticism is unreal. She especially shined in tandem with Naomi in sequences that were too short. She also delivered the most exciting spot of the match, somersaulting off the pod onto everyone.

The crowd wasn't happy when Liv Morgan eliminated her. The former SmackDown women's champion had to play the heel in the moment for a crowd that had found a clear favorite.

While her first big match led to a loss, WWE will have heard the reaction. Stratton will find a spot at WrestleMania, and she is certain to have an unforgettable 2024.

Loser: Naomi

3 of 10

Naomi left TNA Wrestling with the hope to carry that momentum forward into a top singles run in WWE. But it's not coming together so far for her.

The Glow was the first woman eliminated, lasting just 13 minutes in a 32-minute battle. Fans even cheered her elimination as it was Tiffany Stratton pinning her.

For a woman who is still less than two months removed from holding the TNA Knockouts Championship, Naomi does not feel anywhere near title contention.

There is still plenty of time to change that. Her position in WWE is decidedly unclear. But this was not a good night for Naomi.

If she still plans to work WrestleMania, she will need to make a statement as early as Friday's SmackDown.

Winner: Becky Lynch

4 of 10

Five years ago, Becky Lynch was the biggest star in professional wrestling on her road to WrestleMania. The women's division was rising on her back, and she would be one of three women to main-event The Show of Shows for the first time.

Since then, The Man has improved even more in the ring, but her competition has intensified. This show heavily featured a talented women's division, outnumbering the men on the card.

Still, when Lynch walked out to start the women's Elimination Chamber match, she had more aura than anyone else in the contest. That played out in the crowd reactions for The Man, only usurped by the reaction to upstart newcomer Tiffany Stratton.

WWE has committed to Lynch in, arguably, the most important women's match at WresleMania 40. She now has a chance to solidify her legacy against Rhea Ripley.

Winner: Tag Team Wrestling

5 of 10

Finn Bálor and Damian Priest have continued to find their chemistry as a team, and that was on full display against Pete Dunne and Tyler Bate.

The New Catch Republic was on point in its first premium live event as a main roster tag team. It was an impressive showcase of grappling and technical prowess from all involved.

While the result was expected, the action showed that the talent in the division is ready to start a new tag team renaissance.

Hopefully, WWE has a big plan for the division on the Road to WrestleMania. This was only a hint of what the top teams in the company can do.

Loser: Austin Theory

6 of 10

Austin Theory has teased repeatedly moving beyond his image as a joke heel, but WWE continues to put him in spots that belittle him.

Not much was accomplished on The Grayson Waller Effect beyond Cody Rhodes calling out The Rock and Seth Rollins announcing he would be cleared for action in the coming days.

However, it successfully made Theory look like the least intimidating man in WWE. He was made into a joke, even by his own tag team partner.

This is a familiar spot for A-Town, but it's awkward to see him in this spot less than a year after he pinned John Cena at WrestleMania 39.

At least his partner, Waller, had a fun night on his home continent.

Loser: Bobby Lashley

7 of 10

Bobby Lashley walked into the men's Elimination Chamber match in need of momentum. The former WWE champion has not looked like a serious challenger for a while.

However, thanks to an injury angle from SmackDown, The All Mighty was the first man eliminated, taken out by a pair of Claymores from Drew McIntyre.

He was in the contest for over 20 minutes, which is less than half the total run time of the men's match.

At least he did get one big spot, though, sending Logan Paul through the pod screen.

The All Mighty needs to find his footing again. His feud with Karrion Kross and The Last Testament has gone nowhere for months.

Hopefully, he at least won't miss WrestleMania as he did last year.

Winner: Kevin Owens

8 of 10

Kevin Owens remains one of WWE's most underrated veterans, and he carried the early stretch of this contest through pure aggression.

The pace he worked was so much faster than the rest of the field that the rest of the contest felt like it was moving in slow motion after his elimination.

While this was a good Chamber match overall, it was at its best when The Prizefighter was most involved.

The question remaining is where does this leave KO for WrestleMania. The most likely answer would be a rematch with Logan Paul, but Randy Orton may have an urgent grudge against The Maverick after the end of the men's Chamber.

If KO continues to work like this at WrestleMania, no matter who he faces, he could well steal the show.

Winner: Drew McIntyre

9 of 10

Drew McIntyre was the obvious favorite walking into the men's Elimination Chamber, but the match certainly teased other options. Randy Orton was especially close to stealing The Scottish Warrior's moment.

Luckily, it did not happen. The best heel in WWE right now got his big victory and will finally get a chance to win a world title at WrestleMania in front of a live crowd.

This has been a long time coming, and McIntyre should win.

The Scot has earned it. He has the momentum and a phenomenal story. He continues to perform at the highest level possible when it matters most.

Seth Rollins will have a monumental task on his hands at The Show of Shows, especially with his attentions diverted by The Bloodline angle.

Winner: Rhea Ripley

10 of 10

It is normally difficult to sell a crowd on a heel vs. heel match, but Rhea Ripley was always the babyface for her fight at Elimination Chamber.

She is the star of Australia and went to a different place as the underdog against Nia Jax.

The two battled with pure physicality, and Mami gave Jax arguably the best match of her entire career.

Even so, though, this was all about Mami. Ripley was the top star in all of WWE on this night, and she made the most of that spotlight by winning a memorable main event.

She will next move onto Becky Lynch at WrestleMania. Then, she will likely return to her heel roots, though the Philadelphia crowd will have a tough time rooting against Ripley after this.

If there was ever a doubt about Mami's status in WWE, this match and moment solidified her as the face of the women's division and one of the top stars in the company.
