Jayden Daniels: Heisman Trophy at Mom's House, 'Going to Be a Battle' to Get It Back
As former LSU star quarterback Jayden Daniels prepares for the 2024 NFL draft, his Heisman Trophy is being kept in a special place, and he knows it won't be going anywhere anytime soon.
"Right now, the Heisman is at my mom's house," Daniels told TMZ Sports. "So, it's gonna be a battle trying to get it back from her whenever I get my crib, but it's at my mom's house right now."
Daniels earned the 2023 Heisman Trophy after lighting up opposing defenses with eye-popping performances. He threw for 3,812 yards, 40 touchdowns and just four interceptions while completing 72.2 percent of his passes, and he added 1,134 rushing yards with 10 more touchdowns.
The 23-year-old is viewed as one of the top prospects in this year's draft class. In its latest mock draft, B/R's NFL Scouting Department predicted Daniels will be selected third overall by the New England Patriots.
Daniels explained what he believes sets him apart from the rest of the prospects.
"There's a lot of great quarterbacks, a lot of great other guys in the draft that deserve to be in the top discussion. I'll just say for me, my leadership qualities, [going] through adversity and my competitive nature," he said. "A lot of people don't know I'm so competitive until they actually get to meet me one-on-one and actually have a conversation. Later down the road in the future, hopefully in those types of meetings, GMs and owners and coaches, they figure that out about me."
