Patrick Beverley Calls Out 'Casual Fans' After Viral Video, Thanks 76ers for Good Run

Patrick Beverley threw some shade at the Philadelphia 76ers earlier this week on his podcast following the deal that sent him to the Milwaukee Bucks, and on Saturday he called out "casual fans" after receiving backlash for his comments.

During the latest episode of his Pat Bev Podcast, Beverley indicated that there's more of a winning culture in Milwaukee than in Philadelphia and that Bucks players care more about winning than putting up big numbers on the stat sheet.

"I talked to Tobias [Harris] on the phone. He's like, 'Yo, what's the biggest difference?' I'm like, 'Everybody wants to win. Everybody wants to win.' Everybody wants to win. It's not about stats. It's not about numbers here. It's not about who gets the ball. Everybody here wants to win."

Whether that's true or not remains to be seen. Every player in the NBA wants to win a title, and the 76ers are one of the teams under the most pressure to win a championship, having not done so since 1983.

Philadelphia was also among the best teams in the Eastern Conference before losing Joel Embiid to a knee injury that required surgery, so it might not be entirely fair to suggest the team doesn't care about winning.

If the Sixers get Embiid back into the lineup and make a deeper postseason run than the Bucks later this year, Beverley might have to walk back his comments even further. If the two teams meet in the playoffs, there will certainly even be some extra motivation for the 76ers.

Beverley will make his return to Philadelphia with the Bucks on Feb. 25, and it'll be interesting to see how the crowd greets him following his remarks.
