Chris Jones Says He Plans to Sign New Chiefs Contract: 'I Ain't Going Nowhere, Baby!'
Chris Jones is ready for a three-peat.
The Kansas City Chiefs' star defensive lineman is scheduled for free agency this offseason, but he made his intentions clear during Wednesday's celebratory parade for Sunday's Super Bowl victory.
"I need three of those rings, baby," he yelled to the crowd. "We ain't done yet. We ain't done yet. Kansas City, we will be back here next year. And for those who want Chris Jones, I ain't going nowhere, baby!"

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Super Bowl celebrations are emotional times, and things are said that, well, don't exactly help the players in terms of leverage in ensuing contract negotiations.
Nobody needs to be reminded of that less than Jones' agent:
While the Chiefs knowing the veteran wants to come back does hurt his overall leverage, it also wouldn't be a surprise if they rewarded him with a massive contract. After all, he is a major reason they have won three of the last five Super Bowls and has consistently anchored the interior of their defensive line.
Jones' resume includes three Lombardi Trophies, five Pro Bowl selections and two first-team All-Pro nods.
Despite facing constant double-teams, he still tallied 30 tackles, 13 tackles for loss, 10.5 sacks and four passes defended this past season after posting 44 tackles, 17 tackles for loss, 15.5 sacks, four passes defended, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery for the 2022 season's Super Bowl champions.
While Jones will turn 30 years old this offseason, he is still playing at an incredibly high level and will surely want to be paid accordingly.
It should be noted he started the 2023 campaign with a contract holdout and missed the team's Week 1 loss to the Detroit Lions. However, he and the Chiefs were able to come to terms on a new deal that featured additional incentives for the 2023 campaign.
Perhaps there will be a similar back-and-forth this offseason, but Jones made it crystal clear where he plans to play next season.
