Lakers Rumors: LeBron James 'Focused' on Return to LA Despite Warriors' Trade Pursuit
Los Angeles Lakers star LeBron James was reportedly pursued by the Golden State Warriors at last week's trade deadline, but it sounds like he has no intention to leave Hollywood anytime soon.
According to ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski and Ramona Shelburne, sources said James "remains focused on returning to the Lakers in the offseason."
Wojnarowski and Shelburne revealed that the Warriors were not alone in their pursuit of James, as the Philadelphia 76ers also reached out to the Lakers to gauge his availability.

It was noted that "undoubtedly there will be many of these same suitors" for the 39-year-old trying to convince him to leave the Lakers this summer, but James is expected to renegotiate his deal with Los Angeles.
"The Warriors could revisit a pursuit in the offseason when James holds a $51.4 million player option on his contract for 2024-2025," Wojnarowski and Shelburne wrote. "If James returns to the Lakers, he'll likely do so by declining that option and re-signing with L.A. on a new deal that would allow him an annual raise."
The Lakers rank ninth in the Western Conference with a 29-26 record. Amid the team's struggles, James seemed to indicate that he was frustrated with the current state of the roster by cryptically tweeting a picture of an hourglass.
However, when the Warriors reached out to the Lakers, they were directed to talk to James' agent, who reiterated his client's commitment to Los Angeles. Wojnarowski and Shelburne reported that "Rich Paul told [Joe] Lacob and Warriors GM Mike Dunleavy Jr., that James had no interest in a trade and wanted to remain a Laker."
All signs point to James ending his historic career in Los Angeles, so it would be a massive surprise if that changes this offseason.
