Tom Brady Says Chiefs' Andy Reid Handled Travis Kelce Super Bowl 58 Bump 'Awesome'
After a heated moment in Super Bowl 58 where Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce bumped into head coach Andy Reid, legendary quarterback Tom Brady gave his thoughts on the altercation.
On his podcast, Let's Go! With Tom Brady, Larry Fitzgerald and Jim Gray, Brady said that he thought Reid handled the moment well. Throughout Brady's career, he's been in moments like Sunday's altercation and recognizes that it happens sometimes.
"Of course, I don't mind seeing it. You know, 'cause I was a part of a lot of those things," Brady said. "You're thinking, emotions are so high. You're definitely not centered and balanced. You're not in a meditative state at that point. You are fully determined to go after and to win, so I think a lot of things that are said during the games, people should just let them fly off their back."

Brady praised the way Reid brushed off the moment rather than turning it into a big deal.
"And I actually think Coach Reid handled it just awesome like he always does," Brady said. "'Cause he just said you know, 'I was a little off balance and, you know, Travis is such a competitor and I just love that because it speaks to, you know, his leadership ability.' 'Cause some coaches would get so sensitive and all you embarrassed me and you did that. And man, you know, you're a competitor, you're an athlete. And you get out there and you've had the credibility that Travis has and you've had that All-Pro experience and you've won Super Bowls."
Brady believes that Reid's ability to forget about the heated moment and stay focused on the game speaks to his character. Reid is a veteran coach and knows what it takes to win, and he knew he couldn't take the moment personally.
"It speaks to the self-confidence that Coach Reid has in himself, too," Brady said. "'Cause he doesn't take that personally at all. He doesn't look at that and feel like someone offended him. He takes it for what it is and doesn't make it more than it is and doesn't see like someone's trying to belittle him. Travis' not trying to do any of those things. He's just trying to be fired up and stay in the moment."
Fans will likely still talk about the exchange between Reid and Kelce in the coming days, but that moment is likely an afterthought for the two now after winning their third Super Bowl in five seasons.
Kelce had a solid night on Sunday, picking up 97 receiving yards on nine receptions. He helped lead the Chiefs to an overtime win over the San Francisco 49ers, and now he and Reid can celebrate as they laugh off Kelce's outburst.
