McCaffrey, who was also nominated for NFL MVP, proved himself to be one of the most dynamic players in the league. He led the NFL with 1,459 rushing yards, 2,023 total scrimmage yards and 21 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns. He helped lead the 49ers to the top seed in the NFC and a trip to Super Bowl LVIII on Sunday, where they will face the Kansas City Chiefs.

With a league-high 339 touches, McCaffrey is the engine that drives the San Francisco offense. He tied the NFL record with 17 straight games with a touchdown dating back to the 2022 season before the streak was broken in Week 10.

McCaffrey beat out Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott and receiver CeeDee Lamb, and Miami Dolphins receiver Tyreek Hill.

Jackson, who was also nominated for his second NFL MVP, bounced back from a couple of injury-riddled seasons and returned to form as the most dangerous dual-threat quarterback in the league. He threw for 3,678 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven interceptions while leading the Ravens with 821 rushing yards and adding five more scores on the ground.

Jackson led Baltimore to the best record in the NFL at 13-4 before the team fell in the AFC Championship Game to the Kansas City Chiefs.

Prescott also earned an MVP nomination after putting forth one of his best seasons as a pro. He completed a career-high 69.5 percent of his passes for 4,516 yards, a league-high 36 touchdowns and nine interceptions as he led the Cowboys to their second NFC East title in the last three years. It was his first time throwing less than 10 picks since 2020. He finished with a career-best quarterback rating of 105.9.

With Prescott as the driving force, the Cowboys offense led the league with 29.9 points per game and ranked fifth with 371.6 yards per game. Despite the team's brilliance in the regular season, Dallas disappointingly lost to the Green Bay Packers in the NFC Wild Card Round. Prescott threw for 403 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.

Lamb has continued to improve every year he's been in the NFL, but his fourth season was his best yet. He recorded career highs across the board with 135 catches, 1,749 yards, 12 receiving touchdowns and two rushing touchdowns. His 135 receptions led the league this season and ranked as the fifth-highest single-season total. His 1,749 receiving yards ranked seventh all-time.

Lamb scored a touchdown in nine straight games to end the season as he helped the Cowboys win their second NFC East title in the last three years. He earned his third straight Pro Bowl selection and first-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career. The 24-year-old is in line for a major contract extension this offseason, and he undoubtedly proved his worth this year.

In his second season in Miami, Hill was as dominant as ever. He led the league with 1,799 receiving yards, the highest mark of his career, and he tied for the league lead with 13 receiving touchdowns. His 119 receptions also tied his career-high. He was the focal point of a Dolphins offense that led the league with 401.3 yards per game.

Hill was named to the Pro Bowl for the eighth straight season and earned first-team All-Pro honors for the fifth time in his career. He scored Miami's lone touchdown in the team's AFC Wild Card Round loss to the Kansas City Chiefs, with whom he spent the first six seasons of his career and won a Super Bowl title in 2019.

Winning Offensive Player of the Year for the first time in his career is a huge moment for McCaffrey, but he understandably is focused on helping the 49ers win their first Super Bowl title since 1994 on Sunday.
