Alabama Football Recruiting 2024: Top Remaining 2024 Recruits, Class Predictions
While most of Alabama's 2024 recruiting class is already locked in, there are some notable storylines to keep an eye on now that the official national signing period has opened.
The Crimson Tide's entire offseason changed when Nick Saban surprisingly announced his retirement on Jan. 10. The 72-year-old had been with the program since 2007, turning it into one of the most dominant dynasties in college football history.
Kalen DeBoer has the unenviable task of following Saban, though he does have a strong track record of building programs. He led Fresno State to a .500 record in his first season in 2020 and then won 10 games the following year.

In just two seasons at Washington, DeBoer went 25-3 with a Pac-12 championship and an appearance in the College Football Playoff Championship Game in January.
DeBoer's ability to bring his style that worked so well at Washington and implement it against SEC competition is going to be one of the biggest storylines in college football next season.

National Signing Day Predictions
There was some initial concern when Saban left that it would have an impact on the incoming recruiting class.
Almost immediately after the decision, 5-star wide receivers Ryan Williams and Jaime Ffrench and 4-star tight end Amari Niblack decommitted from the Crimson Tide.
Niblack quickly committed to Texas after reopening his recruiting. Ffrench is a member of the 2025 recruiting class, so DeBoer and his staff still have time to convince him to stay. There is plenty of competition for his services.
Texas A&M appears to be a strong player for Ffrench. The Jacksonville native also recently posted a picture of himself with LSU co-offensive coordinators Joe Sloan and Cortez Hankton when they visited him at Mandarin (Fla.) High School.
Despite the competition from other SEC schools, Alabama is also making a strong effort to get Ffrench back. He's met with the coaching staff and plans to take a visit to campus.
Williams recommitted to Alabama on Jan. 24. He was also considering Auburn, LSU and Texas A&M, so that was a huge win for DeBoer to keep him in Tuscaloosa and away from the Crimson Tide's biggest SEC rivals.
Even with some defections from the 2024 class, DeBoer was able to use his Washington connections to add high-quality talent. Noah Carter, a 4-star edge-rusher who originally committed to the Huskies, flipped to Alabama after taking an official visit to Tuscaloosa.
There's no concern at this point that losing Saban is going to have a profound impact on the team's ability to succeed. The Crimson Tide's 2024 class is No. 2 in the nation, per 247Sports' composite rankings.
DeBoer has an excellent track record of succeeding at a major program. Now, he gets to work at a place with seemingly unlimited resources to marry his scheme with elite talent at every position.
