He's the fourth member of the franchise selected for the event, joining left guard Quenton Nelson, center Ryan Kelly and defensive tackle DeForest Buckner.
This marks the first Pro Bowl selection of Minshew's career. He was selected in the sixth round of the 2019 draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars, with whom he spent the first two seasons of his career before being traded to the Philadelphia Eagles.
Minshew joined the Colts ahead of the 2023 season, signing a one-year deal worth up to $5.5 million.
The 27-year-old joined the franchise with the expectation that he would spend the season as the team's backup quarterback. However, he ended up starting 13 games after rookie quarterback Anthony Richardson suffered a season-ending shoulder injury.
In 17 games (13 starts) Minshew completed 62.2 percent of his passes for 3,305 yards and 15 touchdowns against nine interceptions, in addition to rushing for 100 yards and three scores.
Minshew kept the Colts in playoff contention through Week 18, when they were eliminated with a 23-19 loss to the Houston Texans to finish third in the AFC South with a 9-8 record.
"What he did for us was tremendous," Colts head coach Shane Steichen told reporters of Minshew earlier this month. "He stepped in and won us, what, eight or nine games, and a couple plays away from hosting a playoff game. … I was very, very grateful and thankful that he was with this football team, for sure."
While Minshew's future in Indianapolis is uncertain as he's set to hit free agency, he'll at least represent the Colts one final time in the Pro Bowl Games.
The other AFC quarterbacks to be named to the Pro Bowl Games include Texans rookie C.J. Stroud and Miami Dolphins veteran Tua Tagovailoa.
Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes and Baltimore Ravens signal-caller Lamar Jackson were initially named to the Pro Bowl alongside Tagovailoa. Mahomes won't play as the Chiefs gear up for the Super Bowl and Jackson also won't participate.
