Australian Open 2024: Updated Prize Money Payouts from Melbourne
Jannick Sinner delivered a scintillating comeback to beat Daniil Medvedev in the 2024 Australian Open final on Sunday, securing his maiden Grand Slam triumph with an impressive 3-6 3-6 6-4 6-4 6-3 victory at the Rod Laver Arena.
The fourth seed became just the sixth different winner of the tournament since 2004 after an era largely dominated by Novak Djokovic's 10 wins and Roger Federer's six.

Sinner takes home a giant $2,130,975 in prize money for his efforts, nearly double the $1,166,963 winnings Medvedev receives for reaching the Aussie Open final for a third time. Sinner also adds his name to the list of Djokovic and Rafael Nadal as those who have now beaten 27-year-old in the showpiece match.
Medvedev comfortably took the first set, overpowering an opponent who had only been broken twice in the entire tournament until their meeting. It looked as if the second set would be even easier as Medvedev raced into a 4-1 lead, and despite Sinner gaining some momentum, he weathered the storm to put himself within touching distance of the prize.
Sinner fought back, though, pushing Medvedev all over the court in a physically punishing third set. The Italian appeared to be getting stronger as he got himself back into the game, and 56 minutes later, he levelled at two sets all. Medvedev looked tired and unable to string together the shots that defined his dominance in the early stages.
Sinner only grew from here, breaking in the final set as Medvedev continued to slow. He stepped up to serve the game out confidently, giving himself championship point to the delight of the crowd. A brilliant winner wrapped it up as Sinner fell to the floor for his historic moment.
It's a stunning achievement for the 22-year-old, who also eliminated Djokovic in a four-set thriller to reach the final. To claim his first Grand Slam in such confident style and this early in the year puts him in position for a terrific season.
Sinner joins Women's winner Aryna Sabalenka in taking the $2,130,975 jackpot after her 6-3 6-2 win over Qinwen Zheng on Saturday. The second seed excellently defended her crown, certifying her dominance in Australia by securing the second Grand Slam of her career.
Both winners will have to wait until May to try and land their next Grand Slam title. The French Open begins on May 20, before the busy summer schedule sees Wimbledon and the US Open start in July and August respectively.
