Aaron Jones Says Packers Will Be 'Dangerous' in Future: 'We're Gonna Be Special'
Even though the 2023 season ended on a disappointing note for the Green Bay Packers, Aaron Jones is extremely optimistic about the future of the organization.
Appearing on the Total Packers show with Larry McCarren (h/t Bobby Kownack of NFL.com), Jones said there's something "special" being built in Green Bay right now:
"You can feel it. You can see it. The chemistry, the bond, the standard that we've set. I feel like with the standard we've set, we know what our expectations are when we come back next year. Our standard is high. We have no reason not to reach that standard every day because we've shown that we can do it this year, and we've shown we can do it game after game after game, we can put it together. I feel like we're gonna be dangerous. We're gonna be special."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
Jones' strong finish to the season may have bought him one more year in Green Bay. He was being talked about as a potential cut candidate at one point because of his $17.6 million cap hit in 2024 and a hamstring injury that kept him out for six games this season.
After returning to the lineup in Week 15, Jones had one of the best stretches of his entire career. He ran for more than 100 yards in five consecutive games, including both playoff games.
While it can be dangerous to assume that a team's hot streak at the end of one season will carry over to the next season, the Packers have every reason to think 2023 was only the start of something big.
The average age of their 53-man roster coming into this season was 24.98 years old. It was the youngest roster by average age in the NFL since the 2017 Cleveland Browns team that went 0-16 (24.2 years old).
This Packers team had a lot more success than that Browns team. They made the postseason and tied the franchise record for most points scored in a playoff game with their 48-32 victory over the Dallas Cowboys.
Not only that, but you could see the evolution of this young roster over the course of the season. They appeared to be headed toward a top-10 pick in the 2024 draft after a 3-6 start before winning six of their final eight games.
That closing stretch included wins over the Detroit Lions and Kansas City Chiefs, who are both competing for a conference championship this weekend.
The Packers nearly pulled off an upset of the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Divisional Round, but some youthful miscues in the second half cost them in a 24-21 loss.
Jordan Love looks like a star at the quarterback position. He threw for 4,159 yards, 32 touchdowns and completed 64.2 percent of his attempts in his first season as the starter.
Having another offseason to add more young talent to this roster in the draft could make the Packers a strong favorite to represent the NFC in the Super Bowl next year.
