Lions' Jared Goff on Detroit: 'Pretty Fun to Be Part of a City That Cares So Much'
Detroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff was in awe of the passion that fans showed during a Red Wings game after the team's 31-23 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the divisional round of the playoffs.
"Yeah, that was pretty cool," Goff told reporters on Friday about receiving chants at a hockey game, according to Tony Paul of The Detroit News. "Pretty fun to be a part of a city that cares so much."
The 29-year-old spent the first five years of his career with the Los Angeles Rams. It doesn't seem as though he believed the Rams fanbase was as intense as Detroit's, with the team moving to Los Angeles from St. Louis ahead of the 2016 NFL season.

"These fans are unbelievable," Goff added. "I expect to see a lot of them this weekend."
The Lions have exceeded expectations during the playoffs, emerging victorious in two consecutive postseason games after failing to record a playoff win since 1991. With both games occurring at Ford Field, Detroit's fans have flocked to witness the NFC North champions in action.
The team originally broke the streak with a 24-23 win over the Rams in the wild card round, as the Lions ran out the clock in the fourth quarter with deafening cheers from the home crowd.
"That is arguably the best environment I've ever been in," head coach Dan Campbell said after the game, per Dave Birkett of the Detroit Free Press. "That was absolutely electric, and I think, what's crazy is, I was coming down for pregame warmup, and you could just feel it. It was humming. The building was humming, and I swear you could feel the electricity down the tunnel from where I was coming down, and it only just grew from there."
Goff in particular has risen to the occasion during both games, completing 74.3 percent of his passes for 564 yards and three touchdowns without an interception. He'll face a tough task in Detroit's upcoming matchup against the San Francisco 49ers in the NFC Championship game, as the 49ers allowed the third-fewest points each week during the regular season.
However, Goff has done more than enough to earn the admiration of Lions fans after snapping one of the longest playoff win droughts in NFL history.
