Super Bowl 2024: AFC, NFC Conference Championship Predictions and Vegas Odds
Super Bowl LVIII is less than three weeks away, but we still need to find out which two teams will be competing in the final game of the 2023 NFL season at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
That will happen Sunday, when both conference championship games take place. The Baltimore Ravens and Kansas City Chiefs will face off for the AFC title, while the San Francisco 49ers and Detroit Lions will battle for the NFC championship.
The Chiefs are looking to reach their fourth Super Bowl in five years, while the 49ers could make it for a second time in the same span. The Ravens haven't played in a Super Bowl since the 2012 season, and the Lions have never made it.
Here's everything you need to know heading into the conference championship games, followed by predictions for both matchups.

AFC Championship Prediction
2 of 3
The Baltimore Ravens have been the best team in the NFL this season. They went a league-best 13-4, earned a first-round bye as the AFC's No. 1 seed and then defeated the Houston Texans in the divisional round to advance to the conference championship game.
Now, they face their toughest test yet. Kansas City went on the road and outlasted Buffalo in the divisional round, and its players know what it's like to play on this stage. The Chiefs will be making their sixth consecutive appearance in the AFC Championship Game.
It should be a close contest that could go either way. And M&T Bank Stadium is sure to be loud, considering this is the first time the Ravens have hosted a conference title game.
Expect plenty of points on both sides. Baltimore quarterback Lamar Jackson will be difficult for Kansas City's defense to stop, but Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs' offense won't let this turn into a one-sided affair.
The AFC Championship Game won't be decided until the fourth quarter. At that point, it'll become clear who the stronger team is—and that will be the Ravens.
Jackson will lead a late touchdown drive, Baltimore's defense will make a strong final stand and the Ravens will head to the Super Bowl for the third time in franchise history.
Prediction: Ravens 31, Chiefs 27
NFC Championship Prediction
3 of 3
The NFC Championship Game will be familiar territory for the 49ers, but not so much for the Lions.
San Francisco is playing in the NFC title game for the third straight season and the fourth time in five years. Meanwhile, Detroit has made only previous appearance, when it lost to Washington in the 1991 season.
That experience factor won't decide the matchup, but it should help the 49ers' players, who won't be overwhelmed by the stage. Also, San Francisco will have home-field advantage and is a strong favorite heading into the contest.
This game should go as expected. The Lions may make things interesting early, but it would be surprising if they pull off an upset victory and advance to their first Super Bowl.
The 49ers are the better team. Their defense will make things tough on the Detroit offense, and their offense should be powered by running back Christian McCaffrey, coming off a two-touchdown performance in San Francisco's divisional-round win over the Green Bay Packers.
It'll be another impressive showing by the Niners, who will storm to the Super Bowl as NFC champions.
Prediction: 49ers 30, Lions 17
