NFL Rumors: Titans Want to Replicate 49ers' 'Collaborative Formula' in 2024 Offseason
After the firing of head coach Mike Vrabel last week, the Tennessee Titans reportedly already have an idea as to how they want their new regime to look, and they would be looking to duplicate the structure of another successful franchise.
ESPN's Turron Davenport reported that Titans general manager Ran Carthon is hoping to bring over the same process he learned during his time as a member of the San Francisco 49ers front office.
"The Titans would like to follow the collaborative formula the San Francisco 49ers have used with general manager John Lynch and coach Kyle Shanahan over the past seven years, six of which included Carthon in roles as the director of pro personnel and director of player personnel. That desire was one reason Carthon was hired by the Titans from the 49ers," Davenport stated.

Davenport noted that Tennessee's new head coach would not only be expected to collaborate with Carthon but also with assistant general managers Anthony Robinson and Chad Brinker, who are "charged with the evolution of the analytics department."
The Titans already have a lengthy list of 10 candidates whom they submitted interview requests for, but the team isn't looking for an offensive or defensive specialist. Team owner Amy Adams Strunk explained what she hopes to find in Tennessee's next head coach.
"It's important to find someone that brings in a lot of diverse ideas and fresh perspectives," Adams Strunk said. "That's the most important thing in a new head coach."
