Despite reports that Kelce is set to call it a career following Philadelphia's loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in Monday's NFC Wild Card Game, the 36-year-old said during Wednesday's episode of the New Heights podcast that he didn't want to make such a monumental decision while emotions were still raw after the disappointing loss.
"I didn't announce what I was doing on purpose, despite I guess, what's been leaked to the media," Kelce said. "I just don't think you're in a position after a game like that to really make that decision. There's too much emotion in the moment."
Kelce has spent his entire 13-year career with the Eagles and is considered a Philadelphia sports legend. His act of kindness on Wednesday will only make him more beloved in the City of Brotherly Love.
