Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
The Marlins have made no secret about their plans to spend big in order to attract fans to the new stadium. They have already made a couple marquee moves, including adding Jose Reyes, and Cespedes would be another impact move.
Chris Coghlan hasn't been able to replicate his rookie season and Logan Morrison has had his fair share of problems as well. So there's clearly a spot available for Cespedes, who could combine with Mike Stanton to make a fearsome outfield combination.
Chicago Cubs
Few teams got less production from their outfield last season than the Cubs. Now that Theo Epstein is in charge, fans are expecting a quick turnaround, but he hasn't pulled off any marquee moves quite yet. Cespedes would be a strong first statement.
He could also fill an important void for the Cubs in terms of star power. They lack big-name players that attract would interest in the team. Even though they are hopeful Starlin Castro will eventually be that type of player, he's not there at this point.
Chicago White Sox
Carlos Quentin, who was the other Chicago team's most productive outfielder last season, was traded to the San Diego Padres. Even with him the White Sox struggled to get consistent play for their outfield, so there is clearly room for an upgrade.
Cespedes' five-tool potential would work great alongside Alejandro De Aza and Alex Rios, who have both shown glimpses of talent in the past but haven't fully proven it. Putting Cespedes into U.S. Cellular Field would only further improve his power numbers.
