Eagles' Nick Sirianni: 'Nobody Was Satisfied' without NFC East Title After Collapse
The Philadelphia Eagles looked like the best team in the NFC for the first half of the 2023 campaign, but a late-season collapse caused them to tumble to the No. 5 seed in the playoffs.
Per Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio, Eagles coach Nick Sirianni admitted his team was not happy with falling short of a second straight NFC East title.
"I just know the guys have been consistent working. Nobody was satisfied with a playoff berth," Sirianni said. "I know that. It's what it turned into, just a playoff berth, not an NFC [East] championship, not a No. 1 seed. It was a playoff berth."

The Eagles had the opportunity to clinch the NFC East with wins in the last two weeks of the season against the Arizona Cardinals and New York Giants. However, Philadelphia surprisingly lost both games to cap a stretch of five losses in their last six games to close out the regular season.
"And I know nobody was satisfied with that, just like nobody is satisfied with where we're sitting right now, like, we're in the playoffs," Sirianni continued. "We want to go out and win this week and see what happens. ... They're excited that we're here in the playoffs. We obviously have waited a long time to be back into this spot. Not everybody gets to go to the playoffs for three years in a row or back-to-back years even."
Despite Sirianni's optimism, Philadelphia has not looked like the same team that made a run to the Super Bowl last season. The Eagles are also dealing with injuries to star players like quarterback Jalen Hurts, who dislocated his finger against the Giants. Star receiver A.J. Brown is also on the mend after suffering a knee injury in that game.
The Eagles will be facing the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday in an NFC Wild Card game, so they will surely be looking to avoid an early exit from the postseason.
