Rob Gronkowski Honors Bill Belichick After Patriots, HC Split: 'Best to Do It'
Following Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots parting ways Wednesday, former Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski honored the legendary coach on social media.
"Thank you Coach Belichick for everything you have done!" Gronkowski said on X. "From taking a chance drafting me in the very beginning to teaching and showing me the way on the field, I wouldn't change a thing! Honor to be on your team and thank you for putting us players in situations to have serious success!! Best to do it, Coach!"

Gronkowski spent nine seasons under Belichick's lead, from 2009 to 2018, helping the Patriots win three Super Bowls during that time. Belichick had led the Patriots since 2000, making him the longest-tenured head coach until announcing the mutual split on Thursday.
The trio of Belichick, Gronkowski and quarterback Tom Brady will be remembered in New England as one of the best to ever do it. Brady and Belichick won three Super Bowls together in 2001, 2003 and 2004, with Gronkowski joining in 2009 to help them add three more with the Patriots.
Belichick certainly didn't see that kind of success in his final years as the Patriots' head coach. Since Brady left after the 2019 season, the Patriots have made it to the playoffs just one time, losing in the wild-card round. By going 4-13 in 2023-24, New England had its worst season 1992.
Now, both Belichick and the Patriots will look to find success in their new chapters.
