NFL Rumors: Texans' Bobby Slowik Gets Commanders, Titans HC Interview Requests
Bobby Slowik helped the Houston Texans win the AFC South in his first season as offensive coordinator and is reportedly generating interest from around the league as a result.
According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Tennessee Titans and Washington Commanders both requested an interview with Slowik. Tennessee and Washington are searching for new coaches after firing Mike Vrabel and Ron Rivera, respectively.
Slowik figures to be one of the most prominent names in the coaching cycle this offseason given the success he quickly found with the San Francisco 49ers and Texans.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮
While he started his NFL coaching career as a defensive assistant with Washington, he moved to the offensive side of the ball during his tenure with San Francisco which lasted from 2017 through 2022.
He was the 49ers' passing game coordinator by his final season there and helped them reach three NFC Championship Games and one Super Bowl when he was on staff.
The Texans brought him in as part of their overhaul entering the 2023 campaign that also included the hiring of head coach DeMeco Ryans and the drafting of franchise cornerstones C.J. Stroud and Will Anderson Jr.
"Bobby was as talented as anyone I've ever worked with," 49ers head coach Kyle Shanahan said of Slowik, per ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime. "I didn't want to lose him at all. DeMeco knew that he was special. DeMeco and he had a close bond together because they both were [quality control coaches]."
All Houston did was go from 3-13-1 in 2022 to 10-7 and AFC South champions in 2023. It is hosting a playoff game against the Cleveland Browns on Saturday and has one of the brightest futures in the league thanks to the presence of Stroud under center.
Slowik surely deserves some of the credit for Stroud's success, as the rookie completed 63.9 percent of his passes for 4,108 yards, 23 touchdowns and five interceptions. He will likely take home the Offensive Rookie of the Year as a result of his showing and has the opportunity to further cement his season as one of the franchise's all-time best in the playoffs.
The Titans surely took notice considering they are in the AFC South with the Texans.
Moving up to a head coaching position would be the next logical step for Slowik as he continues to progress through NFL coaching ranks.
He is just 36 years old, so Tennessee, Washington or any other team that hired him could have one of the league's best offensive minds leading the way for a decade or more if they act this offseason.
