Dak Prescott, Cowboys Applauded by NFL Fans for Winning NFC East Over Eagles

Andrew PetersJan 7, 2024

The Dallas Cowboys are NFC East champions.

The Cowboys needed either a win over the Washington Commanders or the Philadelphia Eagles to lose to the New York Giants, and they got both on Sunday.

The 38-10 win over the Commanders was fueled by another dominant performance from Dak Prescott, who has made a case for MVP this year. On Sunday, Prescott threw for 279 yards and four touchdowns on an efficient 31-of-36. Prescott now finishes the season with a league-leading 36 touchdowns.

Following the win, fans had high praise for both the Cowboys for securing a second division title in three years and for Prescott's standout game.

With the Cowboys securing the NFC East on Sunday, it marks the 19th-straight season that the division went without a repeat champion. There has not been a repeat division champion in the NFC East since the Eagles did it in 2003 and 2004.

Now, the Cowboys are looking to carry their momentum into the playoffs. Dallas hasn't made it past the divisional round since 1995, when the Cowboys won their last Super Bowl over the Pittsburgh Steelers.

With Prescott leading them, the Cowboys are among the top contenders in the NFC this year.
