Report: NFL Insiders 'Starting to Wonder' About Mike Vrabel's Future as Titans HC
Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel could be looking for an exit after the 2023 season comes to an end.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler and Dan Graziano reported people around the league are "starting to wonder" whether Vrabel will seek greener pastures. While both acknowledge the Titans are unlikely to fire the 48-year-old coach, it's possible Vrabel could approach management and seek a trade—potentially to the New England Patriots.
There has been significant speculation regarding the future of Bill Belichick, who at this point appears likelier than not to see his tenure in New England end after this week's game against the New York Jets.

Vrabel has been seen as a natural successor for Belichick given his coaching experience and eight years he played in New England during the 2000s. Patriots assistant coach Jerod Mayo has also been mentioned as a replacement.
Vrabel is 53-45 in five seasons with the Titans but has how shepherded the team to two straight losing campaigns.
"It sucks to lose," Vrabel said after last week's loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars. "It f--king sucks, losing. Awful. That's why I want to win. Because you don't sleep. You want to win for the players that bust their tail, that's it. It's not about, 'we'll go into the offseason with a good note.' Nobody knows what you did on January 7th in April when you come back. But, you want to see it all come together. Just put four quarters together, win a game."
Tennessee appears to be on the verge of a full-scale rebuild, with quarterback Ryan Tannehill and running back Derrick Henry due to be free agents. The front office drafted potential successors in Will Levis and Tyjae Spears, but the jury is out on whether they can handle the job.
Landing draft compensation for Vrabel and hiring a new coach might be the best way to kickstart the new era.
