Start 'Em, Sit 'Em Week 11: Latest Fantasy Football Lineup Advice for Sunday

Zach BuckleyNov 18, 2023

Start-or-sit debates are always difficult for fantasy football managers to make.

They just seem the trickiest at this point on the NFL calendar.

With the fantasy world's regular season schedule winding down, the time to make or break your playoff hopes is right now. Let's get them in the best shape possible, then, by providing one play and one bench recommendation at the three marquee positions.

Start: Jared Goff, QB, Detroit Lions (vs. Chicago Bears)

While Goff has been good just about anywhere he's played this season, he's proved particularly potent inside of Ford Field. In four home games, he has averaged nearly 270 yards on 72.2. percent passing with eight touchdown throws, two touchdown runs and just three interceptions.

He could fare even better than normal here against a Chicago defense allowing the fifth-most fantasy points to quarterbacks, per Yahoo.

Sit: Baker Mayfield, QB, Tampa Bay Buccaneers (at San Francisco 49ers)

If you've been in the business of streaming quarterbacks, chances are you've rostered Mayfield at various points this season. And there's a decent chance you've better for it, as he's having a fine campaign. He's been especially sharp of late, as he's thrown for two touchdowns in each of his last three outings with just a single interception over this stretch.

A date in San Francisco could bring this mini-heater to a halt, though. The 49ers have allowed the fourth-fewest fantasy points to the position and just completely bottled up Trevor Lawrence in Week 10 (185 passing yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions).

Start: Brian Robinson Jr., RB, Washington Commanders (vs. New York Giants)

Robinson typically offers a decent floor with his running ability, but his Week 10 work in the passing game just helped raise his ceiling. He caught all six passes sent his way and turned them into 119 yards and a score.

He is a solid player, but he can still look spectacular in the right matchup. This could be one of those weeks, as the Giants have given up the ninth-most fantasy points to the position and the most rushing touchdowns (16).

Sit: D'Onta Foreman, RB, Chicago Bears (at Detroit Lions)

Foreman proved to be quite the waiver-wire find in recent weeks, but a huge part of his appeal was the volume he received in this injury-riddled rushing attack. Well, this ground game is getting healthy—Justin Fields was a full participant in practice, and Khalil Herbert is getting activated off injured reserve—and Foreman is now the one fighting an injury, as an ankle ailment has him questionable for this contest.

This is a game worth watching to see how the carries are divvied up, but it's unlikely to be a very productive one no matter who gets the call. Detroit has allowed the fifth-fewest fantasy points to running backs and the third-fewest rushing yards per game (79.1).

Start: Rashee Rice, WR, Kansas City Chiefs (vs. Philadelphia Eagles)

The Chiefs never quite make this clear, but it looks like Rice could be climbing toward WR1 status. In his last four outings, he's had either 50-plus receiving yards or a touchdown catch. In one of those contests, he hit both marks. If he's earned the trust of Patrick Mahomes—Rice has caught 32-of-41 targets this season—that can go a long way.

Especially this week. Passes could be flying early and often in this Super Bowl rematch, and Philly's defense is most vulnerable on the back end. The Eagles have easily allowed the most fantasy points to wide receivers this season.

Sit: Gabe Davis, WR, Buffalo Bills (vs. New York Jets)

The vibes are less than immaculate in Buffalo, as the Bills have dropped three of their last four, haven't topped 25 points since Week 4 and fired offensive coordinator Ken Dorsey earlier this week. Davis has shared in these struggles, having posted fewer than 25 receiving yards in three of his last five games and scoring just a single touchdown in this stretch.

It's hard to imagine he'll snap out of this funk here, as the Jets have been stingier than anyone—by a wide margin—against wide receivers.
