Women's PGA Championship 2023: Tee Times, Dates, TV Schedule, LPGA Prize Money
This weekend, some of the best competitors in women's golf will battle for the second major of the 2023 season, the Women's PGA Championship.
Lilia Vu, who won April's Chevron Championship with a playoff victory over Angel Yin, will look to become the first back-to-back major winner we've seen in some time. Inbee Park was the last golfer to win back-to-back majors in the same season, claiming three straight to open 2013.
Ko Jin-young was the last golfer to win two women's majors in the same year, and that happened in 2019.
Vu has plenty to play for at Baltusrol Golf Club, as will the other participants in what is shaping up to be a strong field. The prize purse stands at $9 million, with $1.3 million going to the winner. That's a substantial increase over the $5.1 million offered at the Chevron, and the $765,000 Vu took home for her victory.
The competition in Springfield, New Jersey should be thrilling. Here's everything you need to know.

While Vu is looking to win back-to-back majors, In Gee Chun will look to win the PGA Championship for the second straight year. Doing so would also be a rare feat, as Yani Tseng was the last to win tournaments in consecutive years—winning the Women's British Open in 2010 and 2011.
Chun, however, missed the cut at last week's Meijer LPGA Classic and isn't among the early favorites.
The favorite heading into the weekend is Atthaya Thitikul, who last tied for sixth at the ShopRite LPGA Classic earlier this month. She also tied for 10th at the Mizuho Americas Open.
Jin Young Ko, who has two victories and five top-10 finishes this year, and Nelly Korda are also among the early favorites, While Korda doesn't have a 2023 win, she's notched six top-10 finishes in eight events.
Ko and Korda ranked first and second, respectively, on the Rolex Women's World Golf Rankings.
Ashleigh Buhai isn't at the top of the favorites list, but she's another competitor to keep an eye on this week. Buhai won the ShopRite Classic and hasn't finished lower than 13th (tied) in her last four events.
The stage for the tournament will be the historic Lower Course at Baltusrol Golf Club. The old course at Baltusrol first held the U.S. Women's Amateur tournament back in 1901 and has hosted major tournaments ever since.
Longtime golf fans may recognize the Lower Course from the 2018 and 2005 PGA Championships, won by Jimmy Walker and Phil Mickelson, respectively.
However, the course has undergone a Gill Hanse redesign since 2018, meant to mirror the original design of architect A. W. Tillinghast.
"What Gil has done is remind us of the subtlety, strategy and rolling beauty of the Lower," historical consultant David Normoyle said in 2021, per John Steinbreder of Nxtbook Media. "And he has made it tremendously fun to play."
The Lower Course should provide a beautiful backdrop for one of the most exciting tournaments of the year, and it should be a lot of fun to watch the action unfold.
