Super Bowl Commercials 2023: Final Expectations for Top Ads, Movie Trailers
Super Bowl LVII is set to be a spectacle in the grandest sense. The game itself will feature the No. 1 seeds of both the NFC and AFC: the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs, respectively.
With quarterbacks Patrick Mahomes and Jalen Hurts set to take the field, it will also feature two of the game's most exciting quarterbacks.
However, the Super Bowl has become much more than just a sporting event. From the national anthem—performed this year by Chris Stapleton—to the halftime show (Rihanna!), there's usually something for even the most casual of fans to enjoy.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Naturally, the string of Super Bowl commercials will be part of the evening's entertainment, too, and there's a good reason for that. Running a commercial during the biggest game of the year isn't cheap, so companies go out of their way to ensure that their advertisements are both unique and memorable.
According to Front Office Sports, Fox has charged an average of $7 million for a 30-second spot during Super Bowl LVII. Shelling out that kind of coin for a forgettable ad would be disastrous.
Unsurprisingly, fans can expect several celebrities to make appearances during the breaks between game action. Or, in the case of Squarespace, fans can expect several appearances by one celebrity, namely Adam Driver:
Be sure to keep an eye out for notable celebrities like Maya Rudolph (M&Ms), Sylvester Stallone (Paramount+) and NBA legend Kevin Garnett (Samuel Adams).
Fans can also expect humor to be a prevalent theme during the commercial break. While there's nothing wrong with sending a poignant message or evoking spectacular imagery, what's more memorable than a great laugh?
Downy is hoping that comedian Danny McBride, sorry Downy McBride can leave a lasting impression.
Fans can also expect advertisers to play into their love of things passed in order to create a few memorable moments during the big game.
"Consumers are looking for a good laugh and to feel comfortable," Rich Weinstein, a professor at VCU Brandcenter said, per Khristopher J. Brooks of CBS News. "It's less about living in the problems the world faces today and more about leaning into nostalgia and having fun."
A bit of nostalgia is what Michelob Ultra is going for with its Caddyshack tribute featuring Serena Williams and Brian Cox:
Additionally, fans can expect nostalgia-themed ads from John Travolta (T-Mobile) and Alicia Silverstone (Rakuten).
Fans can also expect numerous adverts for a variety of beer and alcohol brands. After more than 30 years, Anheuser-Busch will no longer be the only alcohol brand to run national ads during the Super Bowl.
According to Lora Kelley of the New York Times, Molson Coors, Crown Royal and Rémy Martin will run national ads alongside Anheuser-Busch and Samuel Adams.
While the parade of Super Bowl commercials may be dominated by the purveyors of goods and services, film and production companies will also make their presence felt.
Trailers for movies like Fast X, Scream VI, Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among Thieves, Air and 65 will be on tap Sunday, according to Richard Trenholm, Sean Keane and Amanda Kooser of CNET.
Fans can also expect Disney to get in on the action, likely with advertisements for upcoming projects like Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, The Marvels and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3.
With Season 3 of The Mandalorian scheduled to premiere on March 1, fans might expect a trailer for the Disney+ property as well.
Will there be a few surprises along the way? There almost always are. Expect a few shocking moments during the commercial breaks, as well as in the game played in between them.
