2012 NFL Draft Order: All Signs Point to Robert Griffin III as a Top-5 Pick
In a 2012 NFL draft that had seemed it would feature Stanford Cardinal QB Andrew Luck as the No. 1 selection is now being changed slightly with the addition of Baylor QB Robert Griffin III.
The Bears QB has had his way with opposing defenses throughout this season, putting forth arguably the best numbers of any quarterback in football. His 37 touchdowns through the air were among the best in the nation.
Yet, what makes Griffin all the more solid a quarterback is the fact that he is as talented making plays with his feet as he is with his arm.
This season, Griffin posted 699 yards and 10 touchdowns in what was a season to remember for the junior sensation out of Baylor.
Faced with the decision to either play one more year of college football or take his talents to the pros, Griffin took the risk and decided to enter the 2012 NFL draft, a decision Griffin won't regret.
In a year that will feature a plethora of teams looking for QBs to fill their starting roles, Griffin becomes all the more marketable a player.
Not to mention, this is a guy coming off a season that featured a 2011 Heisman Trophy and a comeback victory in the team's bowl game win over Washington.
The Indianapolis Colts and Cleveland Browns are likely to be two teams that will go for QBs in the first round, with the Colts currently expected to take Luck with the first selection.
Regardless of which of the two QBs get taken first, it is inevitable that Griffin will be taken among the Top Five, as both Luck and Griffin III are easily the two best QBs in the draft class.
With a stellar junior season under his belt and a plethora of upside with his athleticism and winning experience at the college level, Griffin is expected to be a sure-fire performer in the NFL.
Don't be surprised if the Colts reconsider taking Luck first after watching Griffin in the coming months at the NFL draft combine.
