49ers' Christian McCaffrey Hopes Eagles and Chiefs Both Lose in Super Bowl 57
After falling one game short of Super Bowl LVII, San Francisco 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey doesn't plan to root for either the Kansas City Chiefs or the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday.
"You know, I hope both teams lose. To me, it doesn't matter," McCaffrey said on Super Bowl Live on Wednesday. "Obviously I wish I was, we wish we were playing so bad, that game still hurts and it will for a while, but I think Nick Bosa said it best: I don't know if I'm going to watch the game, it might hurt too much."
The Niners lost to the Eagles in the NFC Championship Game, 31-7. McCaffrey scored the Niners' lone touchdown in the second quarter.

San Francisco entered the NFC title game down to third-string quarterback Brock Purdy, who suffered a torn UCL in the first quarter. His backup, Josh Johnson, also suffered an injury early in the second half. The Niners had to resort to using McCaffrey in the Wildcat for several plays.
The Niners acquired McCaffrey from the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 20, and he immediately became an integral part of their offense. He ran for 746 yards and six touchdowns and caught 52 passes for 464 yards and four touchdowns across 11 regular-season games.
While McCaffrey may be ambivalent about who wins Super Bowl LVII, at least one of his teammates might not feel the same way. Earlier this week, Niners wideout Brandon Aiyuk said he thinks that the Chiefs will be able to "expose" the Eagles defense.
