49ers Rumors: SF Believes Christian McCaffrey is NFL's Best RB the Past 2 Months
The San Francisco 49ers know what Christian McCaffrey can do and want to make sure he is on the field in the NFC Championship Game against the Philadelphia Eagles.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler broke down the team's plans Sunday on SportsCenter:
"Christian McCaffrey had a calf soreness, kind of a contusion, so he's feeling much better. I'm told the 49ers the last few weeks have just tried to protect McCaffrey best they can in practices with any sort of minor injury because they want to make sure he's on the field ready to go on the weekend. So, he should be set there. And they believe he's been the best running back in football the last two months."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
McCaffrey suffered a calf injury in last week's game against the Dallas Cowboys, limiting him to just 10 carries in the second-round playoff win. The 49ers are still certain to use him as much as possible against the Eagles, even if he has been limited in practice.
The running back has easily lived up to expectations since his October trade from the Carolina Panthers. He scored 10 touchdowns in 11 games with the 49ers, averaging 67.8 rushing yards and 42.2 receiving yards per game.
This level of play has continued in the two playoff games, totaling 193 yards from scrimmage with two touchdowns, averaging 6.2 yards per carry.
Though McCaffrey was a surprise snub from the Pro Bowl, he's been as good as any running back in football since arriving in San Francisco.
