Report: Tom Brady Won't Be Pursued by Dolphins, Committed to Tua Tagovailoa in 2023
The Miami Dolphins won't pursue Tom Brady in free agency and remain committed to Tua Tagovailoa at quarterback, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
Dolphins owner Stephen Ross had violated the league's tampering rules when making impermissible contact with Brady when he was with the New England Patriots in 2019-20 and with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2021.
Despite the past interest, and the fact Brady will now be an unrestricted free agent, the Dolphins plan to stick with Tagovailoa.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Miami general manager Chris Grier gave his support for Tagovailoa earlier this month.
"I would say with Tua he is our starting quarterback," Grier told reporters. "I mean, I don't know how we can say it anymore clearly."
The 24-year-old led the NFL with a 105.5 passer rating in 2022, setting a career-high with 25 touchdown passes in 13 games. Though he remains in concussion protocol and will miss the Pro Bowl, per Marcel Louis-Jacques of ESPN, Schefter previously reported that medical professionals are confident he will be back on the field in 2023.
Miami must decide this offseason whether to pick up Tagovailoa's fifth-year option for 2024, while the two sides are also eligible to discuss a long-term deal.
Brady would seemingly be a quality fit in the offense, which features two exciting receivers in Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, but the 45-year-old must find a different option if he chooses to return for a 24th NFL season.
Multiple Buccaneers players told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network that they don't expect Brady to return to Tampa Bay next season.
The seven-time Super Bowl champion would still have plenty of options if he hits the open market, with the Las Vegas Raiders, San Francisco 49ers and Tennessee Titans listed as possibilities, per Rapoport.
