Rose Bowl 2012: Why Wisconsin Badgers' Russell Wilson Will Dominate
Russell Wilson is one of the most dynamic quarterbacks in all of college football, and he will prove that in the Rose Bowl.
He has turned the Wisconsin Badgers from a one-dimensional team into a team with a multi-faceted strategy of attack. With his skill set, the Badgers have become one of the most dangerous teams in the country.
First, Wilson can throw the ball. He has thrown for nearly 3,000 yards while completing his passes at more than a 70% rate.
That's incredible.
He has 31 touchdowns compared to just three interceptions. When the Badgers run the ball effectively, they're tough to beat. When Wilson throws the ball efficiently (which is almost all the time), they're nearly impossible to beat.
On top of that, he has great mobility. He has rushed for over 300 yards, but it's his movement in the pocket that makes the difference.
He isn't necessarily always gaining yards, but he keeps plays alive. Extending plays and picking up first downs is what makes him a serious game changer.
In addition, Wilson doesn't turn the ball over. With only three picks, he makes sure the Badgers hang on to the ball. That allows them to maximize their possessions, leading to points or good field positions for their defense.
Either way, Wilson is a leader on the field, making this Wisconsin team incredibly tough to beat.
He will play well in the Rose Bowl: He knows the big stage, and he's going to step up.
Wilson will dominate the Rose Bowl and have a spectacular game.
