Super Bowl 2023: Full NFL Playoff Odds and Bold Predictions

Jake RillJan 15, 2023

The San Francisco 49ers and Jacksonville Jaguars were victorious on Saturday in NFL Wild-Card Round matchups, advancing to the Divisional Round. But there's still a lot of action to come this weekend, with three games on Sunday and a Monday night contest remaining on the schedule.

Any of the 12 teams still alive could end up becoming the winner of Super Bowl LVII, which is set for Feb. 12 in Glendale, Ariz. Anything can happen in the NFL playoffs, and that's been proven with surprise results over the years.

It's probable that one of the expected top contenders will be celebrating a championship victory come the end of the postseason. However, that isn't a guarantee.

Here's a look at the current Super Bowl odds, along with several bold playoff predictions.

Giants Will Pull off Road Upset to Open Playoffs

If it wasn't for an incredible 61-yard field goal by Vikings kicker Greg Joseph in Week 16, the Giants could have notched a road victory in Minnesota. That's what it took for the Vikings to pull out a 27-24 win on Christmas Eve, as Joseph lifted them to victory as time expired.

But New York proved in that game that they could hang with Minnesota, which has played a plethora of close contests throughout the season. Those are reasons why the Giants have a good opportunity to earn an upset road win as the No. 6 seed on Sunday.

Last week, key New York players such as quarterback Daniel Jones and running back Saquon Barkley rested, as the team couldn't improve its playoff position. So the Giants are fresh heading into their first postseason appearance since the 2016 season.

They're quite overdue for a playoff win, too, as they haven't notched a victory in the postseason since winning Super Bowl XLVI at the end of the 2011 campaign. Perhaps it's time for that drought to end.

The New York-Minnesota clash is going to be competitive, as most Vikings games have been. And don't be surprised if the Giants end up on top, earning themselves another road trip for the Divisional Round.

Brady Will Lose to Cowboys for the First Time

Having spent the majority of his NFL career in the AFC (20 of 23 seasons with the New England Patriots), Tom Brady hasn't faced the Cowboys too often. But when the 45-year-old quarterback has taken on Dallas, he's been quite successful.

In fact, Brady has never lost to the Cowboys, as he owns a 7-0 record against them. That includes a 19-3 win in Dallas in Week 1 of the 2022 season.

Things could go a bit differently this time. In the season opener, the Cowboys lost quarterback Dak Prescott to a hand injury. Now, Prescott will be in the lineup and ready to go for Sunday's Wild-Card Round matchup.

Dallas needs to get back on track after losing two of its final four regular-season games (including a Week 18 road contest vs. the Washington Commanders). But it's capable of doing that, and a matchup against Tampa Bay (which is the only playoff team with a losing record) could be a great way for that to happen.

The Cowboys should go on the road and hand Brady a loss for the first time. Dallas just has an overall stronger team this year, and that will be evident.

The Bills were expected to be a top Super Bowl contender this season, and they've lived up to that billing. Now, it's time for them to try to win four playoff games and capture a championship.

That's exactly what's going to happen, too. Buffalo should have no trouble in its home Wild-Card Round matchup vs. Miami, but it will likely need to get past both Cincinnati and Kansas City in order to get into the Super Bowl.

However, the Bills can get that done with the talent they have on both sides of the ball. They also continue to get good news about safety Damar Hamlin, who visited with the team on Saturday for the first time since suffering a cardiac arrest in a Jan. 2 game. So that should have team morale high heading into the postseason.

Buffalo has never won a Super Bowl title, but that's going to change this year. And it will get off to a strong start to the playoffs with a lopsided win over the Dolphins on Sunday.
