Updated 2022 WWE Survivor Series Match Card Ahead of PPV
In a first for the WWE main roster, two WarGames matches will be contested Saturday night at Survivor Series WarGames in Boston.
WarGames was a concept created by late WWE Hall of Famer Dusty Rhodes, and while it had a huge impact on WCW, it didn't have any presence in WWE until the creation of NXT TakeOver: WarGames in 2017.
While NXT had a yearly pay-per-view featuring WarGames matches, the brutal bout was kept off the main roster until now, as new head of WWE creative Triple H is putting the biggest possible spotlight on it.

Top Survivor Series WarGames Matches to Watch
The Bloodline vs. Kevin Owens, Drew McIntyre and Brawling Brutes
The Bloodline is the most dominant faction in WWE currently and among the most dominant to ever grace a WWE ring, and Saturday will mark the first time that all five members fight as one in a single match.
Going up against them will be five men who The Bloodline have wronged recently, meaning the babyfaces will have ample motivation to take the fight to Roman Reigns and Co.
Drew McIntyre fell short of beating Reigns for the WWE Universal Championship at Clash at the Castle in September, Butch and Ridge Holland lost a WWE Tag Team Championship match to The Usos after they took out Sheamus with a steel chair, and Kevin Owens has been trying to convince longtime friend Sami Zayn to not drink the Bloodline Kool-Aid.
With so many storylines intertwined into one, the men's WarGames match has a chance to be truly special, and it could conceivably be a match of the year contender.
Also, the possibility of something going wrong between Zayn and Jey Uso that potentially creates a massive rift in The Bloodline and costs them the match will be something worth monitoring.
Even aside from the angles, the match will feature 10 of the most talented Superstars WWE has to offer, and it is difficult to envision the end product being anything short of spectacular.
Bianca Belair, Asuka, Alexa Bliss, Mia Yim and TBA vs. Damage CTRL, Nikki Cross and Rhea Ripley
While much of the hype ahead of Survivor Series WarGames is focused on The Bloodline, the women's WarGames match has a chance to be special in its own right.
The women's WarGames match is primarily rooted in the rivalry between Raw women's champion Bianca Belair and Bayley, along with her Damage CTRL stablemates Iyo Sky and Dakota Kai.
Alexa Bliss and Asuka have also been heavily involved in the feud, as they traded the WWE Women's Tag Team Championships with Sky and Kai.
Another rivalry between Mia Yim of The O.C. and Rhea Ripley of The Judgment Day has also been integrated into the match, adding yet another layer.
Perhaps the most intriguing aspect of the bout is the mystery member of Belair's team, which is supposed to be announced on Friday's SmackDown, although WWE could always hold off until Survivor Series itself.
While WWE hasn't given any clues, Becky Lynch makes the most sense if she is healed from a shoulder injury that has kept her out for four months, as Damage CTRL was responsible for putting her on the shelf from a storyline perspective.
AJ Styles vs. Finn Balor
The only match on the Survivor Series card that isn't either for a title or being contested under WarGames rules is the singles bout between AJ Styles and Finn Balor.
It can be argued that the stakes are lower in that match than any of the others, but given the in-ring quality of both competitors, it has a legitimate chance to be the best match of the entire night.
Styles and Balor have only faced each other in a one-on-one bout once before, that being a match won by Balor at TLC 2017.
That match wasn't even supposed to happen, as Styles was a late replacement for an ill Bray Wyatt, but it was still an excellent encounter that fans continue to talk about to this day.
This time around, there is a true storyline involved, as Styles rebuffed offers by Balor to join The Judgment Day, leading to the group attacking Styles and The Phenomenal One then enlisting the help of Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson and Mia Yim.
From a technical perspective, Styles and Balor have the ability to put on a true classic, and on a card with so few matches, they should be given ample time to make that happen.
