UFC 141 Results: Brock Lesnar Must Make WWE Return in Wake of Retirement
John Cena should be Brock Lesnar's next opponent. The MMA thing has run its course. Lesnar knows it, and that is why he immediately retired after losing to Alistair Overeem at UFC 141.
I questioned whether Lesnar had the mental resolve to compete in the UFC after the physical ailments, and now I am sure he doesn't, and obviously he agrees.
Still, Lesnar enjoys the spotlight, and even though he blasted the premier pro wrestling organization recently and wrestling in general, Lesnar's best place is on Smackdown or Raw. He will have to wait a while to allow the impact of his UFC failures to die down, but ultimately pro wrestling fans will accept him back.
The nature of wrestling allows for storyline manipulation that can even benefit from Lesnar's failures by playing them up and not avoiding them.
Lesnar has looked more and more soft bodied, and the killer instinct is gone in the Octagon, though it's still prevalent in interviews. Well, that is perfect for the WWE. A person like Lesnar that has been in the limelight for so long won't likely be fulfilled in obscurity, especially if you consider that he is only 34 years old.
That is very young in the pro wrestling world. Consider these names and their ages:
Triple H 42
The Rock 39
The Undertaker 46
Kane 44
John Cena 34
All of those giants in wrestling are either at or near the end of their in-ring peak, but the wrestling world offers far more longevity.
When the mental and physical wounds from UFC 141 have healed, Lesnar and WWE kingpin Vince McMahon should reintroduce the return of The Next Big Thing.
Who wouldn't want to see another moment like this?
