Ranking the 5 Best Stables in WWE and AEW Right Now
Factions are always an exciting element of wrestling, and thankfully for fans, there's an ample amount of them right now in WWE and All Elite Wrestling.
AEW has far more than WWE, making it all the more puzzling that six-man tag team titles have yet to be instituted. Despite that, Dynamite and Rampage feature thrilling multi-man tag team matches regularly, and the faction wars that stem from them tend to deliver.
A successful stable must be featured prominently on television, have direction, be booked to look strong, compete in top-tier matches individually and collectively, and their segments and promos should feel must-see.
Unfortunately, The Judgment Day checked all of those boxes early on before Edge was replaced by Finn Balor and Rhea Ripley went down with an injury. Jericho Appreciation Society have also been all over AEW TV lately, but it's largely been a retread of what Chris Jericho was already doing with Inner Circle.
Thus, neither group is worthy of being ranked among the best five factions in WWE and AEW today. Note that The New Day are not included due to Big E's status as an in-ring competitor being up in the air indefinitely, though their longevity alone would have earned them a spot among the elite if they were active.
5. Toxic Attraction
1 of 5Although they aren't a part of WWE's main roster currently, it may be only a matter of time before Toxic Attraction grace Raw or SmackDown with their jaw-dropping presence.
NXT 2.0 has had its fair share of ups and downs since the relaunch of the former black-and-gold brand last September, but the trio of Mandy Rose, Gigi Dolin and Jacy Jayne have been a consistently bright spot on the show. The women's division is far from what it once was and yet their booking and character work have kept the title pictures interesting.
Dolin and Jayne were barely featured on their own, but being recruited by Rose turned their careers around instantly. They've held the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship almost the entire time they've been together, and it might not be long before they get those belts back for a third time.
This has also been by far the best run of Rose's career to date. She's reigned as the NXT women's champion since October and knocked off everyone who has stepped up to challenge her. She's perfectly cast in her current role and is helping elevate Dolin and Jayne simply by being in the same group as them.
The lack of memorable matches keeps Toxic Attraction from ranking higher, but the sky's the limit for these three based on all the success they've had so far.
4. Undisputed Elite
2 of 5On paper, AEW's Undisputed Elite are an exceptionally stacked stable. They are essentially two of the top factions in the last five years merged into one and come across as total stars every time they enter an arena.
As The Elite, Kenny Omega, Adam Cole, The Good Brothers and The Young Bucks were practically unstoppable and held all the gold until Omega lost the AEW World Championship to Adam Page at Full Gear last November. It was at that point Omega left to rehab various injuries, causing Cole to take control of the group in his absence.
He went on to enlist the illustrious likes of Kyle O'Reilly and Bobby Fish, his old companions from Undisputed Era in NXT. Collectively, they've been known as Undisputed Elite since the beginning of the year, but despite their untapped potential, they've been teasing tension for much of their time together.
The Young Bucks and reDRagon appeared to be on a collision course up until O'Reilly and Fish suffered injuries that have temporarily sidelined them, along with Cole. That has left the Jackson brothers to fend for themselves in the meantime, which would explain why their second stint as AEW world tag team champions was so brief.
All signs point to the Bucks reuniting with Omega to combat Cole, O'Reilly and Fish once The Cleaner is cleared to compete again. Until then, AEW should continue to book these five as a dominant force because the chemistry they share is unparalleled.
3. House of Black
3 of 5We've finally gotten to see Malakai Black's complete creativity unleashed in AEW over the last year, and it's been riveting.
Not everyone will dig the spooky-yet-sadistic vibe he's going for, but you can't help but pay attention any time he speaks or shows up. He's a compelling character, and giving him his own group in House of Black was a brilliant move on the company's part.
At the onset of 2022, Brody King debuted as a member of the group. He and Black worked wonderfully well as partners, but it seemed as if they were missing at least one other person as part of the package.
Enter Buddy Matthews.
It wasn't long before he was brought into the faction, and they've been undefeated ever since. That includes wins over Death Triangle at both Revolution and Double or Nothing.
They're a ton of fun to watch work in the ring as well, but the biggest criticism is that they have no sense of direction. Perhaps they're headed for a faction war with Darby Allin and Sting, but they should be on television much more frequently so the audience can appreciate everything they bring to the table.
2. Blackpool Combat Club
4 of 5One year ago, the idea of Bryan Danielson forming a faction in AEW also consisting of Jon Moxley, Claudio Castagnoli, William Regal and Wheeler Yuta was unfathomable.
Of those five hard-hitting competitors, Moxley was the only contracted AEW talent on the roster at the time.
In the weeks preceding their high-profile clash at Revolution in March, Danielson talked repeatedly about wanting to start up his own group with Moxley and take the newcomers of the company under their wing. What we could have never anticipated was Regal getting involved as well in a mentor role.
The three of them quickly started building momentum, racking up wins and becoming the hottest group in all of AEW. Shortly after Yuta was added to the group, they entered a feud with Jericho Appreciation Society and beat them in Blood and Guts on June 29.
Castagnoli was the perfect fifth member, and they've been on fire ever since. What's scary is that they've barely scratched the surface of what they can do, and after this weekend, it's possible they'll be in possession of both the AEW World and ROH World Championship.
At they rate they're going, they'll be leading this list in no time, but until then, there's only one group in WWE/AEW that has been more decorated for longer.
1. The Bloodline
5 of 5The thought of Roman Reigns having his own heel stable was pitched by WWE fans several years ago, but it wasn't until 2020 that the company finally realized he was born to be a villain and it came to fruition.
As great of a pairing as Paul Heyman and Reigns were by themselves, the act wasn't complete without The Usos, with Jey becoming the first to fall in line after back-to-back losses to his cousin, followed by Jimmy the subsequent spring upon his return from injury.
It hasn't always been smooth sailing for The Bloodline, but that's what has made them such an engrossing stable. Once they all got on the same page starting in the summer of 2021, there was no stopping them, and all three have held gold in some form of fashion since.
They took their takeover of WWE to another level this year when Reigns became the undisputed WWE universal champion while The Usos beat RK-Bro to unify the Raw and SmackDown tag team titles. That's in addition to the countless shows and events they've headlined, notable names they've defeated, and outstanding matches they've had.
The Bloodline have been such a staple in WWE for so long now that it's going to mean that much more when someone inevitably hands them their first major defeat. Until then, their place at the top of the totem pole of wrestling stables right now can't be disputed.
