Mark DeRosa... an Indian?
Mark DeRosa will never be this happy again in that uniform.
Yes, the rumors are true that beloved player Mark DeRosa of the Chicago Cubs, who had the best season of his career with 21 homers and 87 RBIs was traded to the Cleveland Indians on New Year's day.
DeRo was one of the best utility players in either league, yet we traded him to the American League for three minor league pitchers. Was it a mistake? It might have been if we didn't also acquire utility player Aaron Miles of the St. Louis Cardinals. Like Jim Edmonds, we welcome him and want him to do his best... to spite the Cardinals.

Yankees Call Up 6'7" Prospect 📈
I like to think, at least he'll join up with former Cubs closer Kerry Wood, and we will see him June nineteenth through the twenty first at Wrigley next year. However, that might not make up for it.
On January second, Mark DeRosa entered his favorite golf course as a Cub and left an Indian after he was called up about the trade. Upon finding out, DeRosa commented, "I'll miss the city, I'll miss driving to the park and seeing all the people, I'll miss putting on the uniform. Everything about that place [Wrigley Field] is special.
But it's a business and you have to move on." It was said that since then, his cell phone had been ringing nonstop of his friends and teammates calling to say goodbye.
I know that I, for one, will miss DeRo greatly, but I think that General Manager Jim Hendry had some sense in him when he made the decision.
The three pitchers that DeRosa was traded for are all supposedly some of the greatest prospects on the team, and with either not-so-reliable Jason Marquis or not-usually-starter Sean Marshall supposedly going to be on the mound in the fifth rotation spot, you never know when good minor leaguers can come in handy.
My sister is the biggest Mark DeRosa fan I had ever seen, which is why I wrote this article, to show her that we all have to move on. I got very emotionally attached to DeRo, and my sister was one of the fans who brought a DeRo is my HeRo sign to the second game of the NLDS, and despite his error, she waved it proudly.
It's going to take some time for a lot of the people in Wrigleyville to get over this, but I feel confident that Aaron Miles can get the job done just as well as DeRo did.
