The SEC schedule was released minutes ago, and it has the Twitter world buzzing.
This is one of the highlights of the postseason for fans of the premier conference in college football and people are already making plans to go see their team play and trying to gauge if their alma mater has a chance of winning the whole thing.
Moments before the schedule was posted, Andy Staples dropped a funny quip about the fanatics down south.
Now that it’s out, let’s take a look at some of the intriguing wrinkles.
The year kicks off with South Carolina heading to Vanderbilt to start the new, expanded SEC era. According to Darryl Slater, we’ll get to see it on ESPN.
Speaking of a new era, newcomers Texas A&M and Missouri have quite a brutal welcome to the conference.
Clay Travis pointed out that the “marquee” matchups for these two schools include some rough home games against traditional powerhouses.
Geoff Ketchum found that the two newbies play each other on Thanksgiving, replacing the traditional Texas A&M vs. Texas rivalry game.
Alabama and Florida are the only two teams that get to play both of these former Big 12 teams this year and that makes either of them a possible favorite to win the conference.
Speaking of easy schedules, how ‘bout them Dawgs?
LSU has eight home games this season and has their toughest matches on the road against Auburn, Florida and Arkansas. They host Alabama at home.
The toughest schedule right now goes to Ole Miss. The Rebels will play teams with the highest winning percentage in the conference according to Jon Solomon.
