WWE loves to use celebrities to promote WrestleMania. Shaquille O'Neal is a mainstream star who happens to be a huge wrestling fan. It is a perfect marriage of talent and circumstance, and it sounds like he could be in action at WrestleMania 28 in a battle with the Big Show.

Shaq broke the news on Wednesday during a radio interview. According to a report on WrestlingObserver.com, he said that he is in talks to work a match against Show. However, it does not say that it is a done deal, so it is possible these talks could break down.

Nevertheless, knowing the high expectations that everyone in the WWE has for the April 1st show—which also features The Rock's first singles match in eight years—it is hard to imagine Vince McMahon letting this opportunity pass him by.

Let's be honest, who doesn't want to see a battle between two athletes who are over seven-feet tall? It is a classic monster match, and those are always fun. They may not be great technical battles, but the rest of the card will have that.

Shaq is one of the most charismatic athletes of the last 25 years. He always wants to put on a show for the fans, no matter what he is doing, and he has experience with WWE already. He was a guest host on Raw in 2009 and had a stare down with the Big Show.

WrestleMania was already shaping up to be a great event, with The Rock vs. John Cena and other the rumored matches including Triple H vs. Undertaker and CM Punk vs. Chris Jericho.

When you add a fun gimmick match like Shaq vs. the Big Show to the mix, you have a special event that everyone is going to go out of their way to watch. It is a fun spectacle.

Fans of old school wrestling might hate it because it is just a cheap ploy to get more mainstream publicity and take away a spot from someone who might be a better worker, but to those people I would say you need to lighten up.

Wrestling, above all else, is supposed to be fun. A match featuring Shaq and the Big Show would be fun because they know how to sell it. That will get the fans even more excited to see it.

As a fan of the spectacle of WrestleMania as much as the in-ring stuff, I hope that WWE and Shaq do work out a deal to make this match happen because it will be fun for the fans to see.
