As most of you are aware, barring a catastrophic injury, the main event between John Cena and The Rock is set in stone. Besides the highly publicized cross-generational encounter, there are two additional matches that are scheduled to transpire at the Miami extravaganza.
According to WrestlingInc.com, Undertaker vs. Triple H and Chris Jericho vs. CM Punk are also slated for WrestleMania 28.
During Triple H's promo on the Dec. 12 broadcast of Monday Night Raw, it became clear that the plans call for another clash between "The Dead Man" and "The Game." In fact, many observers were taken aback by Triple H's arbitrary mention of "incapacitating" Undertaker at WrestleMania 27—marking the first time "The Phenom" was unable to leave the ring on his own volition.
There is also a parallel to be drawn between Shawn Michaels and Triple H—two former members of Degeneration-X—the latter of whom will similarly try his hand at ending the "Grim Reaper's" streak once more off the heels of an agonizing defeat.
In addition, the Y2J-Punk bout would seem to add credence to the notion that Chris Jericho's return is imminent. The first-ever undisputed WWE champion could either be the mystery man behind the cryptic, Jan. 2 videos or he could surprise us all by returning when we least expect it.
Nonetheless, Fozzy's front man will show up sooner than later to kick-start a feud with WWE's superstar of the year, CM Punk. It should be an engrossing back-and-forth duel of words, too, since both are equally adept at capturing the WWE universe's attention by merely speaking into a microphone.
When the time comes, the fans will be lathered into such a frenzy that WrestleMania 28 will be looked forward to with rapt anticipation as it will decide who really is "the best in the world."
