The Vancouver Canucks find themselves in a very interesting position with their goaltenders.

Roberto Luongo has been the top guy in net for the Canucks since he arrived in Vancouver and is currently in the middle of a very long and very expensive contract.

Cory Schneider is currently the goalie that is playing better and has a much smaller contract.

With two potential starting goalies, the Canucks basically need to decide on which one they are going to trade, and the latest talk on the trade block shows that the Canucks have been sending out feelers on Roberto Luongo.

While Luongo is having some struggles right now, he is still a very capable goalie that could benefit many teams looking to make a long run into the playoffs.

So which teams would benefit from acquiring Luongo?

Dallas Stars

A bit of a long shot here, Kari Lehtonen is definitely the man in Dallas for now and the future, but his injury leaves this team needing some serious help.

This is probably the most unlikely of all the options, but Dallas got off to the start they did because Lehtonen was playing out of his mind.

They need an elite goalie to keep themselves in the hunt this season.

And who knows, groin injuries can be very tricky for players to come back from. This could alter the shape of his career, you just never know.

Winnipeg Jets

The Winnipeg Jets have a lot of excitement surrounding their team right now.

What better way to show the fans in the new city that you are serious about winning than to get one of the elite goalies in the NHL to play in your net.

It likely wouldn't put the Jets in the playoffs right away, but Roberto Luongo could be a perfect thing to help this team move forward.

Columbus Blue Jackets

Columbus was very aggressive in the offseason, but has been unable to put together anything this season to show that their team is moving forward.

Before too long, the Jackets are going to have to blow up the lineup and start all over again.

When they do, they are going to have some valuable pieces that they could trade to obtain a guy like Roberto Luongo.

It definitely wouldn't guarantee the Jackets anything, but it's always good to have a solid player in net.

New York Islanders

How fitting would this be for Roberto Luongo to be traded back to the team that originally drafted him.

The Islanders are having some inconsistencies in net and have only one goalie that is over .500 and that is just by one game.

Perhaps a high-level goalie like Luongo could be the thing to help this young team gel.

New Jersey Devils

The Devils are about to witness the end of an era when Martin Brodeur hangs up his skates.

At the moment, there doesn't seem to be much of an idea about who the new goaltender will be when Brodeur does retire.

The Devils have some pieces that might make this trade doable, most notably Zach Parise.

It would be a blockbuster trade, but it would be one that would help out both teams.

Tampa Bay Lightning

The Tampa Bay Lightning came within one game of the Stanley Cup Finals last season, and Dwayne Roloson was a big reason why.

Sadly, Roloson hasn't been as good this year and he is another goalie who will likely be riding off into the sunset at the end of this season.

Tampa Bay will be needing to look forward, and a solid defensive system like the one that Tampa Bay runs would help Luongo a lot.

Tampa has a lot of talent that can provide goal support in addition to that defensive system. This could be a great match for the Lightning.
